  1. And that is why I have a desktop. My laptop runs the game at a steady 60 fps with everything maxed out. You just need the right laptop. Desktops are best but I like to game where ever I feel like gaming whether that be in bed, a different room / location or on the couch.
  2. I probably have more silenced pistol kills than I do with any other weapon. Just track them heads and you're in business. You sound dangerious.
  3. It's nice to know when you've lost or gained the silo without having to notice you can no longer buy the Tiberian weapons. As soon as I hear the announcement, I head on over to recapture if I can.
  4. I played a few maps and absolutely love it!. I had zero crashes period, my performance has improved. I play on a P170hm laptop that has a GTX 680M and before I had to use a mixture of high and medium to get really good performance, now I have everything maxed out. I never enable AA but might try that later. I get 60 fps. People were laughing about Field due to the Emp Grenades and other balances making it last even longer. I am loving the fact that the flame trooper is now useful, not sure if I'm just imagining that though because I don't remember any changes being mentioned. It was nice to face off against Fartland and live another day, I really like the new details on the soldiers clothing, armour and I love the Laser chain gunner and Black hand changes. I couldn't be happier with this release, it has a pure quality feel to it and every battle is now a lot tougher due to the balancing and extra defense options. You guys have done such a great job and I really appreciate all of your hard work. I can't wait to play another game! I also enjoyed the end game cinematic, everyone seemed really surprised and caught off guard by that one haha. I hope this Beta 3 brings back a lot of those players that left due to crashing. Already I noticed there was twice the amount of people than usual and there have been over a thousand downloads the last time I looked. Ive posted a few details about this release on Google Plus so hopefully that will help a little in getting the news out. I feel very blessed to be able to play this.
  5. Last night on Field, someone placd a fake beacon and then a spy placed a real one. After searching for the fake one all over the place, even when you know it might be a real one, I think it has a psychological impact. People made less effort or half the effort to find the second beacon and lost the strip.
  6. I like how the veterancy system works in Tiberian Sun Reborn. I think something along those lines would be great in Renegade X as long as its balanced. For example, extra health / armour, more ammo, more stamina or a slightly improved weapon etc. I think if vetrancy is done right, it will add so much to the game. When I played Tiberian Sun Reborn as a Cyborg, I used to play more carefully, retreat more and think about what I was doing simply because I wanted those perks.
  7. I absolutely love this game and despite the crashing, Ive enjoyed playing it every single day after Ive come from work and finished everything else I need to do. Sometimes I crashed 5 times before I could successfully join a match and others did too. This project will never die, it must live on! Out of all of the games Ive played so far, there is something about this one and the remake that I can't quite put my finger on, it's so much fun and it looks great too. I can't wait for Beta 3 to be released and I'm more excited about this Beta release than I have been form some commercial AA titles. You guys have done an amazing job and I can't thank you enough. Please never give up on this, even Westwood are praising this one, such honour.
  8. Often I crash 3-5 times just after entering the Map. Sometimes I crash before Ive even got into game.
  9. This is fun, it does not need to be patched out of existance, it just needs to be balanced. I think that all unusual tactics should be encouraged as long as there is a way to counter it. The 6 Hotties made the Orca invincible so of course, not much could be done but if only a few Hotties could surf then they would need to be more careful, duck, move around to avoid gun fire and some would have been taken down by snipers or Marksmen. This was clearly not intended but I think it adds more potential to the game once it has been balanced.
  10. They certainly shouldn't all be gotten rid of, but you have to understand that they produce severe imbalances at times that ruin the fun of the game. They need to have some reasonable and fair limits. You would know this if you've ever seriously played as a Tech on defense (especially as the only Tech). Base defenses, especially automated ones, are severely lacking (especially for a game based on strategy), putting a ludicrous burden on Techs to take on the task all on their own. Relying on noobs to do or know anything is ridiculous. Deployable Turrets should be a solution (already was a concept by the devs before Beta 1). It would add a whole new strategic element to the game (really the game is mostly tactical at the moment, not strategic except for rushes, mines, and base defenders). The early APC and infantry rushes just take advantage of pre-start time when normal people might take breaks or get ready. The base has no mines, no defenses, and no one is prepared. It is a natural time that people have and HAVE TO let their guard down. This is a game design flaw. It takes no effort, fight, skill, ability, knowledge, or anything to accomplish. Maybe not even luck. It is sheer stupidity and ruins what would normally be a fun, hard-fought game for everyone (easily being able to beat the enemy is boring and lame ... noobs and morons might not understand this). It's not about winning. I don't mind losing one bit, if it's a fair and hard-fought fight (or at least people somewhat tried). Someone must win and someone must lose. It's the fight that matters. The end result is meaningless. Vehicle Surfing = Fun. Vehicle Surfing with 6 Techs on top making an Orca invincible = NOT FUN. The real issue is being on top of flying vehicles where you can't be shot almost at all (especially at the vehicle ceiling). If they were hanging on the sides or down repelling ropes, it would be no problem. A solution might be to make soldiers weigh much more, because lifting vehicles with air vehicles has a weight limit. So, only 2-3 soldiers MAX on top of any flying vehicle. Another way is to make flying vehicles have a slippery top. Every item and ability MUST have a counter, but it should be limited by having to choose the right counter at the right time. Airstrike -> Counter with 30 second deployable Air Forcefield Dome in a small area (all vehicles and ppl must crowd under the small forcefield dome ASAP!), purchased. If you don't have one, you get damage. If you don't time it right, you get damaged. If you don't get under it in time, you get damaged. Many enemies entering the base -> Countered by Deployable Turrets -> Countered by Stealth Black Hand -> Countered by Mines -> Countered by Technicians defusing. And so on ... The right place at the right time with the right equipment and setup. I agree, add more items, but that balance out other items. For every problem add a solution, but one that one must be appropriately prepared (place, time, setup). Few will have the right solution at the right time and in the right place. You make a lot of great points. I have only been Tech more casually but even then Ive noticed the limitations and struggled to protect buildings or counter attacks. I think instead of removing all 'features' that are discovered, I think the Devs should comsider balancing them and embracing them with restrictions so they become part of the game play. When I see people talk about removing it period, then it has the potential to keep the game where it is. Your suggestions are great because it poses a compromise. I'm sure if everyone discussed this that we could come up with better soltions than just removing them. Concerning the early APC rushes, it is annoying and although Ive been in teams that have countered many early ones without a problem, if it succeeds it does make for boring gameplay. Better base defences would solve that. If one were to reduce starting credits for all players that might work otherwise people will just donate and pool credits. There is so much more potential with this game.
  11. I'm getting a bit tired of people complaining about the inovations of this game. If the Devs listen to them, all you will be left with is a generic game with a face lift. Sure, the original renegade was great but this is an opportunity to turn greatness into something even better. I agree Airstrikes are too nerfed but getting rid of them? Why? People want to stop infantry vehicle surfing, they want to stop early APC rushes, they want to stop infantry from being able to use a vehicle to climb walls, they want to stop anything that adds more fun to the game. Are people on a quest to make this game more boring or something? I have used Airstrikes as a distraction to create confusion during a rush or a beacon placement. I hope the Devs don't listen to all of these people who want to make this game a clone of the commercial ones we know off. This is not Renegade, it is Renegade X and we should be glad of improvements or added features. Airstrikes fit the game so well, it feels like it has always been in them.
  12. It seems that many players are on a mission to ensure that this game can become as generic, linear and devoid of creative tactics as possible. Why not have a few engineers on an arca to repair it, why not drive around an APC with a few laser chain gunners on it or a stealth tank with sbh on the top with nukes. All of that sounds like a lot of fun and a great laugh. It seems like people just want to make this game as boring as possible. I say embrace it.
  13. I once drove an APC and had a lasergunner standing on it. These little touches can add creativity and more fun to gameplay. Disallowing them will reduce this. When you want to think outside of the box but end up being boxed in, it's a lot less fun.
  14. The voice that says 'I need repairs', sounds impatient and really pissed off to me, makes me laugh.
  15. Mines always do the most damage if you are running. Have you tried crawling into any before? I do that as a disarming tactic sometimes.
  16. Another thing to bear in mind is that from my experieince, crawling into mines as an SBH allows you to survive a lot more. It may have been luck or a bug but Ive crawled through about 4 mines and lived.
  17. I think that has a 0% chance! Renegade is set in the Tiberium Dawn era (you know, the C&C game from 1995?) Ren X is the updated version of that game, whilst maintaining the gameplay during that era. No fancy dancy stupid EA "improvements" (read: stupidity) for this game please! EA ruined the C&C series Not everything about Cnc3 was a fail and any positive points should be considered to improve on Renegade X. Renegade X doesn't just have to be an updated version of the one from 1995 and it already isn't. They have added things that weren't in the original and it has made it better. I don't agree with APC mines but there may be other small improvements that can be made that were never in the original and I think they should be considered if they fit in.
  18. I remember that, I was on the Nod team. The Orca and other cheating was annoying but I did have to laugh when even that couldn't save them from us. It was fun to play on that team because almost every time I suggested a rush whether it be with Chem troopers in the cave, Flame Tanks against the AGT or Stanks, everyone was game and there was quite a bit of team work. This made me think about a friend feature where you can add people to a list so you know where they are.
  19. I was just playing as Nod on a 12 Vs 12 or more and we repeatedly failed Flame Tank rushes against the AGT, it must have been at least two or three times but we just barely managed to take out their WF. I never suggest Stank rushes when the AGT is still alive but this time, we ended up doing a Stank rush anyway. We took out the AGT with Stanks and it appeared that the lack of armour was made up with by the extra speed. With the Flame Tanks, by the time we got to the middle of the base, we were almost dust but the Stanks extra speed allowed us to survive for longer.
  20. If this was not a free game, I would certainly pay full retail price for it. This game is made out of pure love for the Cnc world and that is something lacking from many commercial games today.
  21. Hahaha, I can only imagine being on the receiving end of that. I always try to encourage Stank rushs once the AGT or main base defenses are down but people are usually very resistant. However, I think I see more Stank use overall but only on the main field. The other day the Hon was getting absolutely pounded by MRLS but no one was trying to take them down. I took out quite a few and scared of the others with just one Stank. I still need more time to get used to driving them but I will always promote them when I can. I'm fed up of Flame tank rushes lol.
  22. I think the crashes on join, map change and explosions are what has wrecked the player base. On many Servers, I crash as soon as I join 100% of the time and am sent back to the Desktop. I don't know how many others this is happening to but maybe this explains some of the empty servers and fewer players. If I wasn't a fan, I would have left and not come back. I can only imagine how a new player who has no Cnc background or nostalgia would act. Edit: I finally got into game and it crashed to desktop after an Ion cannon explosion and there were only 11 players, how many who crashed will decide not to come back... These crashes only occurred at map change in Beta 1.
  23. Check out the Bluehell Veterancy feedback thread. https://www.bluehellproductions.com/for ... opic=27475 More specific to your concern... I know they are two different games but they still have quite a bit in common. When I played that game, I wasn't afraid to die but I definately found myself thinking more about tactics, cover, distraction and health in order to try to stay alive longer to get some veterancy perks. I think as long as veterancy perks vanish when you die it will be fine. I doubt anyone will add veterancy to Renegade X though but it would be an interesting server side experiment.
  24. Veterancy was used in Tiberian Sun and its never caused such problems of being unable to win anything in Tiberian Sun Reborn because it's very challenging to stay alive for that long. However, it did make players care much more about their character and try to stay alive for longer.
  25. Unfortunately I have to agree on this one. The only way Stanks are useful against infantry is when they haven't detected your presence and you run them over. I tried to run some over after detection but it didn't work out too well.
