  1. If you have some spare time and don't mind getting really scared, don't be afraid to play a 20 year old game. This game has one of the best storylines ever made, hands down. Every time you think you understand the story, nope, it throws another jaw-breaking part at you. First time i played this game i built a genuine feeling of hate (and not just a bit!) towards the main enemy, if you're willing to look past it's outdated grapics and clunky keybinds, off course.
  2. Hahah, nicely done! I can't stop smiling! Was it hard to make? What do you think of the signature you made? Is it your style? EDIT: do you want some background information on the pictures you used? Or have you already looked for that yourself?
  3. I've honestly never heard of any of those. Don't confuse "origina gamel" with "modified servers." The original game only had two crates: 100 credits and refill. If you either have played on Jelly Marathon, MPF UltraAOW or Kambot/Kamuixlite server you most likely will have heard of those. And sorry if you misinterpreted about what i said 'original game', i also should've said C&C Renegade.
  4. Chrono Trigger is a western RPG, not very well known right know because it's pretty old indeed (it was released for the SNES). I'm not going to explain why it's one of the best RPG's ever made (lol, no bias here ), but most of the characters are similar to the ones in Dragonball Z because they are made by the same person (Akira Toriyama). You basically are a swordman that travels to 5 diffrent timelines and save the world in every one of them, all connected to a 30 hour lasting storyline. System shock is a cyberpunk horror game from 1994, and blah blah, it's a very good horror game, praised by critics but flopped commercially because it was too advanced to run smoothly on computers from that time, got delayed and it had to compete with games like Doom that also got released around that period. What you might notice about that game the most is the picture of a woman's face connected to all kinds of green and white lines 'n' stuff. It's the AI called Shodan on a spaceship called Citadel Station, and hell, what was she good at scaring the shit out of people.
  5. As far as i know, no. Some performance issues have been fixed but i don't think the vehicle lag has disappeared yet.
  6. Cool! But i think i'll go for the signature after all, because i just came up with something that would be totally amazing. Have you ever heard of the game system shock? Creating anything in that area would make my mind blow into pieces! Yet i think it would be very difficult to make a signature out of that game. Oh my... Why haven't i just removed this above... Ermmm, you know what? Let's change the game instead. Chrono trigger should be easy enough, i think? Yeah, let's go for Chrono Trigger. Or System Shock if you don't mind. Oh god, i'm so indecisive... .-.

    Music

Remember that the developers are not allowed to recieve any cash from anyone when it comes to donations. Although... You could contact Frank himself and ask if he could make a song for you, which the developers could then use in the game.
  8. I think it's safe to say it had something to do with the remarkably small size of the game.
  9. What about some that were in the original game? Like: - Shake the enemy team screen crate: shakes the enemy team's screens for about 30 seconds (not Lakeside's earthquake crate, but the true horror known as artillery fire next to you while scoping in a sniper); - Ion storm crate: causes a lightning storm which reduces visibility, and temprarily disables your entire HUD; - RenjackTM suit (vehicles only): the enemy team can't steal your vehicle; - Tank destroyer ammo (vehicles only): gives you a limited amount of armor-piercing rounds at the cost of infantry/splash/building damage; - Change vehicle crate (vehicles only): changes the vehicle your driving in in another random vehicle; - Second wind crate: returns a part of your health where you otherwise would have died. Also works with vehicles. - Noob here crate: a HUGE shiny arrow above you will point at you with the text 'Noob here' on it (one of UltraAOW's better crates ); - Butter fingers crate: removes a large amount of weapons from your inventory.
  10. I don't really have much interest in a new signature atm, mine took hours to make, and was supposed to be part of a video (which i'll continue working on in a couple of months). but why not make a cool animated avatar? Or if you really want to get busy with a signature that much i can request one for fun, if you want.
  11. Oh wow... That thing looks really cool!
  12. You, sir, have good taste in games. Listen to this dude, for funks' sake. What the hell is the problem of being able to choose? Unless there are too many of them, which in this case is not true. I've spent countless hours playing at the Sla.Ro Mutant Co-op server, providing you over 10 boinks to choose from. They were all fun to use, and i found some even better then the boink, but they got annoying after a while. The only boink sound that kept entertaining me and never got annoying over the years still was the 'boink' sound. A couple of others i used was a soldier in the intro mission shouting 'Great shot sir!', a mutant saying 'insignificant creatures' , a loud shout that said 'Yea!', or even the commando from the Tiberian Dawn laughing or saying 'You got it!'. There's nothing wrong with being able to change the boink sound. What went wrong here is people turning a normal subject in classic Renegade drama although no-one here would even mind having an option. Others can't hear you get a boink! It's purely for yourself! Right...?
  13. Iran got banned recently from Jelly-X marathon for being extremely good at this game.
  14. yesterday i had less than 15 health and i became stealthed, but it took much longer than normal I kind of like this more, as it stays more true to the original. If you got redbarred in the original game (when it comes to the stealth tank), you started smoking even when stealthed (for only a while), and your cloaking device kept going on and off for about half a minute, before staying cloaked.
  15. Yes. You can expect them in early 2047 (or sooner).
  16. Just think of it in this way: the longer it takes for a patch to be released, the more additions there will be once it has been released.
  17. My new boink sound: http://needformadness.wikia.com/wiki/File:Firewasted.ogg
  18. Now we're talking about that...
  19. http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php ... msg_486590 Yeah... I know it's renegadeforums you're posting on, but knowing you from C&C Renegade makes it hard for me to believe you.
  20. I'm really not sure about vehicle balance... All vehicles have a sprint feature. The Stealth Tanks is stealthy, but slower then usual and have a low accuracy because of the huge arc they shoot with. Half of the time i have no idea if i'm actually hitting something. Mammoth tanks have powerful weapons, but they are also very good at being a sitting duck. They're never meant to take the field alone, they need support from other vehicles and hotwires, which requires a lot of teamwork. But once they have you besieged... I don't want to fight such enemies, as the second you crawl out of base you get insta'd, crawl back to get healed and same thing happens. Seriously, the only moment in the game where the mammy is OP is once they are next to your base's entrance. I can't lay my finger on the exact word, but they do amazing damage for 1 second and then reload for 3 seconds. Other vehicles don't have this. Medium tanks have 800 health and a decent speed. Their length makes them more vulnerable to enemy fire then other vehicles though, and this is where the light tank comes in. They're arch rivals, and if both drivers are skilled, they make for really exciting tank battles. The light tank is small, fast and shaped accordingly. The light tank will win in long range fights, whereas the Medium tanks are definately superior in short-range fights. It's an interesting tradeoff. Flame tanks pack quite the punch, but guess what, they're only effective in close range. If it comes to firepower (only firepower!), in Tiberium Dawn: Crappy against heavy vehicles, excellent against light vehicles and the ultimate building slayer of the Tiberium age. In C&C Renegade: (Quite) effective against heavy vehicles, excellent against light vehicles, excellent against buildings. Whereas in Renegade X: OP, almost to the point of broken against heavy vehicles, excellent against light vehicles, excellent against buildings. This needs a fix. Range is fine, speed is fine, vehicle damage is my only complaint here.
  21. Adding a couple of road signs next to the base entrance or bridge(s) (like the big sign on the highway on City, or you can make a smaller one with only 1 pole), where text could be added to help greenies navigate the map, should help the pointwhore-issue. As pointwhoring is a valid tactic but a total dick move, place them in such a way this makes for very limited space where artilleries/MRLS can freely shoot a building. A tunnel system would be neat, but you can make it look abandoned because something went wrong with the foundation and some of the walls collapsed, exposing the tunnel with tiberium-infested soil. This way it's actually still canon, considering tiberium grows like a potato (it duplicates itself underground with a lot of roots before popping out above the ground). I don't see much reason to replace the Obelisk or AGT. What IMO is necessary though, is a way to end the game if both teams lost their War Factory/Airstrip. Make it so the Barracks and Hand of Nod are both walkable (but very difficult to perform), allowing for teams to nuke/ion the pedestal. Something similar to AGT walking in Glacier_flying and PP/HoN walking in Under (using your environment to block a part of the enemy base defences, but still requires assistance from a repairing engineer/technician, like with the AGT walk. Great map by the way, i love the level of detail put in it regarding the gameplay.
  22. Imagine if you were driving a mammoth tank. You are driving the tank while in the middle of the vehicle. The vehicle does not look for you, you're the one with the eyes here. If you are able to spot a stealth tank from 10 meters, and if there was 10 meters between you and the edge of your vehicle, you still don't see him, because the distance between your vehicle and the enemy vehicle is smaller then the distance between the driver and the enemy vehicle. This makes it a lot harder to see cloaked units if you're driving a big vehicle. A bit of common sense, really. But i do get your point. True, but right now the gap is just too big between infantry and tanks and their ability to detect stealth. The gap needs to be, and is being tightened. Agreed. Nothing else needs to be said.

  24. I didn't like how certain vehicles in C&C Renegade dropped you at the left side, but if you entered and left the vehicle again it would drop you at the right side, even though both sides provided plenty of space. You would actually have to test your drop position before you knew if you were going to land on the roof or fall off, to put it that way. I haven't checked how this exactly works in Renegade X, but as long as there is no random factor to it, i'm more then happy.
  25. Instead of the binocular(?) you use for airstrikes you call in a nuke/ion strike! Ramjets should fire some real blue beams instead of a witty blue line, like the Ion Cannon! I'm going to kick ass with my 4-clip ramjet rifle now! Now i don't even have to aim to kill 4 people with 1 magazine!
