Would it be possible to make something like APB did for the original remegade for renegade X? Are all the files and things necessary to do that?

Seems resetting fixed the issue, I also had really low level of available disk space so I freed some up. Also did the share with everyone and it works now thanks. another question tho. when I launch renX it brings up the server launcher window. When I select a server and hit launch it loads up renx and sends me to the main menu where I have to hit multiplayer then select the server there. can I just go straight to the server from the small launcher window?

Hmm don't think I hit reset game in the launcher. I have had really old old versions installed in the past should I completely do a reinstall?

When I try to join a server on 5.3 I get the long wide bar that comes across the screen with the renx graphics and 5.3 in lower corner, then i get the load screen and it just sits there and won't let me go back to windows or load the game. windows 10 btw

Lighting would be better, but these reasons would be the most beneficial- -merge 2 small communities -w3d engine has some bugs that make it unenjoyable( teleporting players when jumping over objects, bad lag online, terrible net code, glitchy weapon switching, vehicles get stuck due to lag when going close to objects, among others.) -ease of access, OG renegade can be hard for beginners to get running on newer machines. Have to instal several different programs to run.

Is there anything you couldn't do to make it like the original? That's cool I didn't know if it could be done. i think it would be cool to import some OG ren maps with the bad textures and all, you know to play them on an engine that isn't from the Stone Age.

Hey friends, been around a while and am currently releasing maps for the original renegade ( you read that right). played renX a few years ago and am looking to get back into it, so what has changed since then? Also I know a lot of old timers are still playing the original ren since the gameplay is significantly different. i was thinking if an OG (original gangster) renegade option or setting could be made? You know to make the game play like the original (slower more strategic) for example don't allow ADS, no sprint, change character and vehicle speeds, etc . To much work? anyways good to be back again!

That would possibly work. Are there any limitations for mutators? Mostly looking to change vehicle/weapon stats like speed damage etc. and things like getting rid of the running mechanic. just looking to see if this would be an option, and with custom mutators could others join the server without having to download anything extra? thanks for the responses

Quick question about modding. Would Ren X be moddable to be changed and released as a completely different game with its own launcher? im not asking about the feasibility of this but rather the permission to use the models, code, etc. Either permission from the ren x team or if EA will allow it through their agreement.

So I'm starting working on a map here and let me first of all say that making maps for RenX is about 50x easier and less complex than for renegade. I have a few questions about landscape mode though. I'm having trouble applying a texture to it that I can paint on with multiple textures. I couldn't figure out how to set it up. Second I'm wondering if it is easier to use brushes instead of landscape to allow for making tunnels better. I was trying to make openings for tunnels by using the visibility tool but even when I made a small brush size it made a massive hole way bigger than the tunnel opening. What is the best way to make jokes for tunnels or should I not use landscape altogether if I plan on making lots of tunnels/ holes in it. Thanks for the help, not very well versed in udk yet.

I'll try making one and see how easy it is/ if it is anything worth doing. If it is maybe I'll try and make all the stock maps again.

Would anyone be interested in having all of the original renegade maps and maybe some fan maps created? What it would be would be all of the Ren X units and structures plopped into the old shitty renegade OG maps with all their shitty basic textures and things. Kind of like a tribute to the original? I was thinking of making one map like this just for shits to see what it would be like. Also I will be remaking many of my fan maps that I made for the original renegade. Will post pics when I get further along.

I might have a crack at making some of these. Is there anything that needs to be done a certain way? For example in OG Ren the interiors and exteriors needed different prefixes. These details would be good toknow before starting. -

In OG Renegade the new structures did this Adv comm/ temple or shrine of nod : when destroyed lose ability to purchase beacons Multiple power plants would be for multiple AGTs/ obbys Ex. PP1 goes down and AGT 1 won't fire. But AGT 2 still will fire and no double money for purchases. When both AGT1 & 2 go down double purchase price takes effect. I really like the extra structures, they add more depth to the game. -

Hello! PwnCall here. Just reintroducing myself, I recently got a computer that I can play renegade x on and I might be getting into some map creation. I was one of the map makers over at MPF Forums for Renegade for several years. Some of my maps I have made were Detroit, Atoll, Airai, Lazer Tag, Paintball, Stockade, Traverse, Permafrost, Nebraska, Installation, along with some others Just saying hi, also will a quad core i5 new iMac with 8GB RAM be enough to map make? I have Windows 8.1 dual booted. Thanks!
