  1. QUOTE (Demigan @ Sep 30 2009, 06:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My computer is on my room and the sound installation and energy systems are very old, which means that the sound installation makes a lot of noise even if it's off but there's power on the cable, and the elecric system zooms a lot no matter what I do, which isn't something I want to sleep with. Besides, I would rather download it at comming home from school tomorrow then download it while I sleep. It will make the chance on mistakes installing later on smaller.

@ the dev team: perhaps it would be good to have a 'whine thread'. Just for people who need to whine about the unbalances they find, things they don't agree with etc. Then you have both a good excuse to delete any whine threads that are made besides that one, and you know what they are whining about inside. And you'll probably know better then me: They will whine about just about anything.

    Yours sincerely,
    Demigan.[/b]

    +1
I'm pretty sure there's a suggestion thread in the VIP/testers section. Think the mods might make a new thread and sticky it. :)

Yeah well that's not the point, every single other timezone got listed except GMT+12, feeling a little left out here :-P[/b]

    Just kidding! :P

Don't worry man, I'm sure someone will setup a server in Sydney, Bejing or Tokyo!

    Just saw the timezone list:

Around 10:30 PM for GMT+1 Paris, Holland, Luxembourg

Uber lameness :( . What am I going to do until then!![/b]

    I dunno, Masturbate?

    Beta Tester here....

Just to let you guys know i'm a heavy unreal player and love the fast paced action of unreal. But i will tell you that RenX isn't as fast paced as regular unreal is. So dont' freak out and think that it's a do or die game as mentioned in the above posts.

O yeah, ummm jeep is prolly now dead in a ditch somewhere by now, lol[/b]

    Cool!

I played Hourglass yesterday on the UK server, exactly the same speed as normal renegade. Although it seems slower due to the huge size of the maps and detail added, it takes about the same time to travel. We cheated a bit by using UT3's hoverboard though!

He's probably searching for Rubies. <_< (BAD JOKE I KNOW :huh :)

I'm loving how all the waiting forum members are slowing down the entire forum. Or could that be due to upload traffic to the server? Hmmmm  .[/b]

Get used to it. When something is popular and is about to get released, the sites are ALWAYS hammered.
Equivalent of a DDoS attack! :(
  4. Great post Zeg!

You should also add countries/cities next to your timezones. GMT (London, Lisbon), GMT+1 (Paris, Holland) GMT+2 (Helsinki) etc..

    QUOTE (Robs @ Sep 30 2009, 04:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
tbh it would be easier if the server files are released before the mod. no one is gunna be able to play for hours with the dl servers being used at max for a while.

Can't the server files be given out first?[/b]

The answer is NO. Everyone will get the mod files at the same time.

To roughly quote what Fobby said:

If its out 12:00 at GMT -5 (5 hours behind) wouldnt it be out 17:00 at GMT +0 and at 18:00 gmt +1 in central Eu? Or 5 or 6 pm depending on location in yankee time?

(I should have said 7 hours in my post before)

Of course thats less than 1 hour from now and might be optimistic seeing as he said about "middle of the day" which isnt exactly 12:00 plus server problems and up-/downloading the thing takes time.[/b]

    That's what I thought. I was wrong.

Fobby cleared this up in one of his posts.

Nope, EST is GMT -5, my post was correct. GMT +5 would be somewhere in Asia. North America is behind Britain, not ahead of it, so therefore Eastern time is in the negatives.

The plan is tomorrow afternoon EST. Expect it in about 15 hours from this post. If it's later then that, then please be patient with us, we will be releasing it September 30th EST for sure.[/b]

When he posted that, it was 6:30 am GMT. 15 hours from then would be 9:30 pm GMT.

    Makes sense?

google was my friend on that, 3 weeks ago i had no clue how to set a game server, and now i can work in .ini without worrying about crashing server lol[/b]

    Ditto. ;)

All it requires is practise. You just need to learn the script commands and experiment with values. You can even download current config files of certain servers and analyse them.

All good server hosts should let you upload mods/files via ftp and allow you to edit the startup scripts. Without the latter, it'd be pointless letting you upload mods.

argh, I can see on moddb 'released at september the 30th: status: released'

I take the fact that some of the modders themselves are currently watchin this forum as a sign that they are in the progress of uploading it or something.

@Blazor: ARGH that means I have to wait for another 6 and a half hour! I think? I'm from Holland, +1 GMT[/b]

9pm GMT... that's 10pm in The Netherlands... well it's fine by me. i've waited for like a year and a half now; a few extra hours shouldn't be a problem :) [/b]

Yup guys. What fobby posted makes sense now. Initially he said GMT -5, which is confusing because he said 12am US time. I assumed you added 5 hours, but it would have been GMT from eastern time. Confusing stuff I know. :)

    To clear things up:

Mod will be released today around 9pm GMT (UK Time)

Anticipation most likely. Alot of people are starting to sign up to the forums and are asking hundreds of questions about the release dat (more specifically, release time)

Again, so infact, you're looking at the 30th September 9pm GMT if you're in the UK. Knowing that, you can work out what time it will come out in your country because GMT is central.
  10. It's not released yet.

    Beta Version 0.35

It will be a Wednesday, so expect the mod download to go up sometime in the middle of the day eastern time (GMT -5). If you live in a timezone far ahead of EST, the mod will be available to you on the morning of October 1st.

As for servers, we will be talking about that on our release post. We will have 2 US servers available and 1 UK server on September 30th, ready for the release. We will also have at least 4 download clients available for you all.[/b]
