Lol, dude. you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. The human eye can't even see a difference above 80-90 fps. Everything above that is a waste. A trained eye might be able to get up to 100fps, and I highly doubt you've got a trained sight. You're more likely to limit your brain then to limit the amount of frames your comp can pump out if you've got a decent rig. the amount of information you perceive per second has nothign to do with fps, hell, you'd even be able to play with 15 fps perfeclty fine if you're used to it. If you'd play at 15 fps, and then through a hardware upgrade you'd hit 20, that would seem as a large improvement. 90 to 120 however, wouldn't even be noticable.[/b]

Thats exactly what I said before in this thread.

Some people just don't flipping read. YOU CANT SEE ABOVE 60 FPS...

Guy´s can u increase the FPS limit to 120 plz?

best Monitors has 120 Hz  [/b]

You do realise the maximum rate your eyes can actually see is around 60-70 FPS/Hz?
Only fighter pilots can train to have refresh rates up to 120, but let's face it, you're no fighter pilot. :)

You think so too huh ? I always felt Havoc's looks should be rugged. I mean c'mon, the guy is a pumped up, muscled macho commando. There's no way in hell he's going to have a James Bond look. Like the original concept Havoc http://www.cnc-source.com/forums/index.php...ge&img=3056[/b]

Yeah this is exactly what I thought. Maybe not as ugly as the original concepts, but he should certainly look like he's no pushover!
  4. It all depends on the map I think.

Certain maps it's better to play Nod, other maps better to play GDI.

That doesn't work all the time though, a few skilled players can be outclassed by a bunch of n00bs who work cohesively as a team.

You can join the Renegade X Official UK Server #1, that has people in it and its updated with the SC patch. Any servers that isn't updated with the patch, you can't join.[/b]

Damn, I hadn't had any problems with the first iteration of the client. Let's hope the new and improved client is better. ;)
  6. I'm pretty impressed so far with what you have done! ;)

When I entered the server, it almost brought a tear to my eye. As cliched as this sounds, Renegade was a big part of my life. I think most of the guys here who are uber fans would agree. :)

You've managed to capture that unique Renegade multiplayer that we all love (and hate <_< :P ) and took it to the next level! Graphics are pretty impressive all around aswell as the audio elements!

I feel I got what I expected and a little more tbh. I knew it was a beta so I didn't expect the final product. Consequently, I would have preferred one more map! Maybe you guys can hurry up with hourglass for a quick update? :D

As far as surprises though, you guys finally releasing it gave me a heart attack! (I kid I kid! ;):P )

There is still alot of work to be done but hopefully the beta will encourage more people to help out finish it off!

As I've reported some myself, there are many glitches, bugs and whatnot that needs fixing for the next update. It's playable at the moment but it still needs some elbow grease at certain areas.

I applaud Totem Arts and whoever pitched in to make this mod possible. The overall quality and effort put in to this so far has been outstanding. For the teams first project, it's definitely paved your way onto the modding scene

Definitely the best mod made (almost! xD)

    That's what I think anyway. :)

all server over 50 players i played in had lag. even on a dedicated box. you will see alot of 32 players cause they are all rented server. and itsthe sweetest spot to keep optimal perfo ratio vs ppl in server. other, like the official Ren-X server are on a dedicated box[/b]

    I see. :)
I don't see why they would implement it, if they can't support it.

    QUOTE (xlucidx @ Sep 30 2009, 07:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I wouldn't even think about having that many people on a server.
    The lag would be insane.[/b]

Look at MAG (Massive Action Game). It's on the ps3, yet it supports 256 players. Although they have a whole different engine, they manage to run the game without lag, because the player who is playing the game only recieves essential data about the players around him/her.

well i know that around 7-8 community will host a server . my clan will host 2 x 32 players ... a normal server is 32 players ... so count around 250-300 persons will be able to play really soon[/b]

    I heard UT3 can support 128 players.
This is possible to host that amount on renx with the size of the maps?

Re-read the sentence. The sentence wasn't worded badly, I just didn't state that Renegade X users were UT3 users because that's self-explainatory.[/b]

I apologise, it wasn't worded badly. It's just that the punctuation made it difficult to read.
