Nautagrim Posted August 28, 2015 Share Posted August 28, 2015 I hope this is the correct sub section under bugs to post I have installed the newest version Update(beta 5.003 I believe) and I have encountered a rather annoying error which I did not have with the previous betas. When I enter the game the usual powered by unreal and Totem arts proudly present renegade intro movie play then it goes to the loading screen where it stays for several minutes then I get thav Powered by UDK is not responding. I have tried the following and had no success -Reinstalling and updating via the Launcher(twice) -Reinstalling and updateing via the Manual Google drive Download -Please do not tell me it is the old virtual memory issue as I have already adressed that I would appreciate a swift reply as I am hosting a LAN with several freinds soon and we have some unfinished business in RenX Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If that doesn't work, post the last ~50 lines of your launch.log file from your "Renegade X\UDKGame\Logs". It's kind of difficult to figure out what exactly an issue is if it just miraculously locks up. Either way, if that's where it ends, it gets to setting up the map list... so try bypassing that really quick and we can go from there. In the RenegadeX/Binaries/Win32 folder open a command prompt (if you hold shift and click in the window it'll have an option to open a command window there), then run "UDK CnC-Field -log" If it lets the entire map load, then there may be a corrupted Front-end-map package in your maps folder... or something of the like. Maybe two suggestions: - What if launch a game from inside a game? - What does a fresh install do? So the whole game after a new download and than update? Look in your UDKGame/Config folder and see if there are multiple UDK[Whatever].ini files beneath all of the Default[whatever].ini files. There should be one UDK file for every Default. --- On that same note, the Default resolution changed in 5003, so if it's worth a try, you can look for either UDKSystemSetting.ini (this is the one the game uses), or DefaultSystemSettings(this is just the default one it uses if you haven't ever ran the game). In either of those search for "ResX" and ResY, and set them to your preferred resolution. E.G I run 1920x1080, so it'd be ResX=1920 ResY=1080 - On that same token, you can look into editing both SystemSettings.ini, and RenegadeX.ini to reset all of your graphics settings and see if that's where the error comes from. Nautagrim Posted August 29, 2015 Author Share Posted August 29, 2015 Fixed it wilth a wild stab in the dark before I maunauly patched it I made a back up of the files from the beta 5.002 that would be replaced when I put the beta 5.003 new files in I swapped out the UDKGame.ini in "...\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config" and it worked The GDI buildings health bars in the new training yard map look squiff But my renx is working again through shear luck and desperation Thanks for the help it is nice to see that the game devs do actively reply to issues in a timely manner Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
