sebastiaan.goossens
My Lenovo W520 with Nvidia Quadro 1000M (Nvidia optimus) overheats when running the game for one or two minutes even on the very lowest settings, and throttles the GPU down causing massive framerate drops(from around 50-60 fps to 10-15 fps) for a few seconds, making the game unplayable. This doesn't happen in any other game, while most of them I can play perfectly fine using relatively medium to low settings.(Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, civ V, etc.) I'm on all the latest drivers. Is this a game specific problem?
wolfrikku
Might try blowing the dust out of the machine. Only other suggestion would be find some way to keep the heat from building up inside.
AlienXAXS
Try forcing vsync to be enabled in your nvidia graphics options panel within the windows desktop. Might help.
