TD
As we all already know, Renegade-X is a mod for UT3. Steam has 40% off until march 15th. The game is pretty cheap and affordable for anyone. It also includes the UT3 level editor, the new 2.0 patch, the new titan pack, and of course soon Renegade-X! So what are you waiting for? http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/13210/
Jngdwe
and to those who do not know, you can also bind your cd version to your steam account and recieve updates. iI'm pretty sure you can still install it normally after doing this.
R315r4z0r
I've never used Steam before. If I purchase this now, can I install it on another computer later? (Even if I don't install it on this computer?)

You can download your games anywhere by just installing steam and logging in. It's a bit different from retail though, it won't download an installer instead it will download the files directly to your computer and you'll need to be running steam to play your games. R315r4z0r
Alright, cool. I got myself UT3 :V Now I just need to wait for my new computer case to get here so I can install it
TD
Concerning the 'You need Steam to run UT3' statement, I tried replacing the Steam UT3.exe with a Non-Steam UT3.exe, and I could play Unreal Tournament 3 without needing to start Steam, even online. Though there's no reason for me to play without Steam as it's a lot easier to communicate with friends and stuff on it, and it doesn't use much CPU and RAM. BLuel4bel
I keep getting this shit: "Your account creation request failed, please try again later." Even when trying it on different days :\

Damnit why does everyone overlook this blatent bonus everytime steam is mentioned I ported my retail copy onto steam and copied the files across, also saving a 9GB download. A few hiccups verifying files, but in all honesty it was smoother than expected. You can sitll install your stand-alone copy with the old serial without problems too. Some crappy rumour declared it null & void which is a complete lie by anti-steam gamers.Benefits of steam aren't that huge. Auto patching, achievements, and the friends chat etc.. Since Steam was initialy released it has over-time become a very stable platform regardless of people's past grudges and retarded diagnostic skills. Sorry, I forgot to mention this earlier ;(

Grimhound
Just in case you missed or decided not to buy it on Steam, the retail price at Gamestop is currently $12.99 for a physical copy, which isn't too shabby. You can also use the CD key to activate the game on Steam, as it is one of the games supported for that.

(That, or scratch it) What are you going to use then for installing? In that case Steam is safer, because when you buy the game there it's indestructible, you can just download it again when you log into Steam. Say you were to download and wipe your computer the next day. Just redownload Steam and you will have the ability unlocked to download UT3.
