  1. I'm a fan of smaller games as well; 24-player is perfect. Since there seem to be more than a few like-minded people, why aren't we joining the servers with smaller player caps?
  2. I should have been more specific about what I meant by "this tactic." Asking before purchasing is good when done well.
  3. My second day playing the game, it crashed at the end of each match with the "Made with UDK stopped working" message. I did some troubleshooting and have never had the issue again. I'm not sure what fixed it, though. I think it was updating my display adapter driver software. Anyway, it seems the issue may be the user's computer's reaction to the end-game sequence. It'd be nice if the devs are able to repair it, but in the meantime, the user may be able to fix it with 30 minutes of tweaking.
  4. Right. Simply put, there is no benefit to this tactic.
  5. My game crashed and I received this error each time a game ended. First, I updated my display adapter drivers and disabled my antivirus software, but the issue persisted. The next day, I selected "Run as Administrator" and changed the in-game resolution to match my display's. The issue was gone. It may be coincidence, though, because the issue only occurred one day.
  6. Is this a realistic goal? Due to the geographical dispersal of players, isn't lag due to latency inevitable? If this seems like a stupid question, keep in mind I don't have a background in IT, server management, or game design.
  7. R315r4z0r, I don't think that's an issue because no one is forced to use the tokens. Basically, the wealthy player gets to say, "I will pay for technicians because we need more. If you don't want to be a technician, you'll have to buy your character with your own/someone else's credits." I get kinda frustrated when I donate to engineers to upgrade their repair capabilities and they use the money to buy a 500 sniper.
  8. This thread is great. I agree with almost all the suggested ideas - tokens, team donate, an easier donation command system. I am skeptical about bringing back shells, though. Destroying them in the mayhem of the enemy base during a rush was extremely difficult sometimes. The constant vehicle swaps sometimes made the game drag on.
  9. I agree with Truxa; this bug/glitch/tactic/whatever gives NOD a significant advantage on a map with no automated defenses. It requires GDI to have several superior players to defend against a few inferior players. Consequently, GDI has fewer players with which to attack, giving NOD an advantage on both sides of the map.
  10. Why did it take me so long to find out someone was reviving the Renegade community? I started playing Renegade about 10 years ago (anyone remember the Xphaze servers?) Life took me away from games a while and when I returned, the game was all but dead. I can't wait for this download to complete and to start playing again. Totem, you're awesome.
