  1. I am afraid to have to tell you GroundsKeeper but since Renegade X was built in UDK, then it's unlikely we'll see 128 player matches as UDK has a hard-cap of 64 'human' players. You can go up to as far as 256 with bots but the hard-limit of human players is at 64. Attempting to circumvent it, I have heard (not with Renegade x but with other games using Unreal 3), results in net-coding and latency issues .

But I do agree with you, it would be sight to behold.

Yea i heard the devs talking about that, but a man can dream

  2. No, airstrike is shit, we just worked our asses off to push Field back and when we started to breach the enemy defense they put out a few airstrikes and our whole tank force was out of commission, this whole airstrike is pissing me off more and more.

I totally agree with this, when you fought like mad to get a siege to the enemy base, you deserve to hold the line there.

Same for in base airstrikes, it is the lamest ever.

  3. Hotwire'ing a hand of nod with 2-3 engineers trying to shoot me with their repair gun xD

A sbh placing a nuke inside gdi base but oustide range of a building.

Rocket trooper not going for refil even though he was camping at his own powerplant.

A guy placing all mines in the field.

  4. The problem with ingame voice chat is that people have absoluteley no clue on how to not broadcast their wierd sounds and rage attacks.

I prefer just private teamspeak servers or skype anyday over having to listen to 5-10 players masturbating ingame, or thinking they are the super commanders of the renegade world.

  5. The very first time they ever talked of Airstrikes during the closed beta, i said it was a bad idea, and i still think it is a gamebreaker.

People spam them all the time and dying in the middle of your own base just gets old within a half a minute.

Hovever i think there is a reasonable fix for it.

Either make it a vote thing. 10 votes or somethiing for a sweep of a area. Everyone who votes yes looses x amount of credits, and uses a Airstrike point. (maybe like max 3 pr round total for each team).

    Or...

Make it a Team effort. 3-5 players are needed to place the airstrike, they have to point the laser at the same location for a certain amount of time. And at the same time when deployed warn the other team of incomming airstrike. (big reticle on the ground or something.) After this those 3-4 players have used their airsrike ability for the rest of the match.

Point is that it has to be limited or hard to do if it have the cabability for one person to ruin a well earned siege from the other team. It must not be able to be used for point farming and should be a strictly stalemate breaker only!

  6. Also a problem with making this game "every other game" is that then you might aswell play "every other game".

Then what is the point in making it? "Every other game" is already out there several times over.

For me this is a remake for the people that thinks "every other game" is kinda crappy and want a new version of a over 10 year old game he still plays and think is better than "every other game" out there.

"Every other game" will be forgotten in 6months, this one i hope will last for +10 years.

  7. God please no to leveling or equipement systems. The reason I play Renegade is because of its unique gameplay, and mostly because I can join and leave WHENEVER I feel like it. I can take 3 months break and join as 'same level' as everyone else again, not worrying about falling behind after a break or such...

I totally agree with this, it is not supposed to be a lame grind game where you get awarded on how much you play not how you play.

  8. The original game had bad net coding, and didn't support many players in the same server.

While i do not know anything about the net coding,

I remember 127 player games O_o that is more than 99.9999% of all shooters nowaday, and back then ze interntz connections were like 100x smaller.

I know the hosters of theese games probably had some badass servers and back bone connections, but 127 players in the same game is hardly "not many players" :P

    So unless you plan on 512player c&c mode(Drooool!)... ;)
