  1. Well as i remember from renegade, the closer you get to the beacon the louder it gets, why not just apply that same method? besides, what if around the barracks you added a small 1meter radius of pavement, would that make more sense from a building point of view? you lay your slab of cement, and then build on top of it.

    just some thoughts :D

  2. Still Steamrolling along nicely, looking at this more and more keeps getting my hopes up of playing it soon, but we all must wait, rushing an unfinished product is bad and ea should learn from that :P

I completely agree with Tsumetai about the barrels.

Good work so far fellows, keep it up.

  3. Hey, I watched it, and i thought it was awesome, though i am having a few issues about the stealth tank that was shown, i believe the missiles should be a fired more apart, they are too close, and i dont like the red color to them, other than that its FRICKING AWESOME ;P

  4. does it have to be called Renegade? or Unreal in the name because you could call it something completely different like Tiberium fallout or something like that... just thinking of ways to expand the choice of names we can choose from.

  5. yeah i can use the crysis sand box really well, but i dont know anything about the unreal stuff, so i can make really quick level designs in crysis sandbox. Ill probably fix that level up later today, and see how it goes.

  6. Saga you are a very smart fellow by the sounds of things, If you need an extra server i can help out from time to time, provided i haven't gone over my download limit (40Gb per Month), and if you guys can mind a little bit of lag due to the location being in Australia.

Provided i get shown a read me on how to set up an UT3 server because i've never done that before.

just thought id say that so you guys know the offer is there.

  7. Hey guys,

Anyone else's Internet server providers got into the Christmas spirit?

Because i am unaware if you guys know how crappy Aussie ISP are, but we don't have unlimited connections, we Reach a certain payed for point and then we get Shaped/Capped to slow speeds like 64Kbps some ISP's go so low as 26Kbps.... yeah slower than dial up.

Anyway, My limit is 40gb and i am up to 52GB and i am not capped smile.gif still got my full speed of 20,000K/1,024K

Anyone else's ISP in a sharing mood? or is just my local one being nice tongue.gif

  8. i was sort of at the time thinking about copyright issues on the "C&C" name, though ea has been pretty good with letting people use it for mods, but normally they are quite heavy footed on that sort of thing.

    what about Unreal Renegade?

  9. Renegade Tension?

i am not very good at names, but ill keep thinking

    could just call it "Renegade"

when you think about it, because the mod isnt produced by EA you cant give it the C&C brand name, but because it is a mod you can call it what ever the hell you want, so i guess you could settle for Renegade. Then it would be known as Renegade the UT3 Mod.

yeah you can really tell i am out of ideas here tongue.gif

  10. Yeah poor Westwood, If renegade had of got good media attention back then, i have no doubt that it would of been really Big. I didn't even know there was a renegade until i saw 1 copy on the shop shelf, thats how much information about it we got over here.

  11. I've been thinking about this, and i don't know if it will be a big hit or not, but at least it will hopefully offer a good modding engine

But regardless of my opinions of the game, i will buy it because of the C&C title tongue.gif

And titans right a lot of games are moving towards consoles these days and then later ported to PC.... i hate PC ported games they dont feel right.

anyway we will have to wait and see.

As for server process, I can't tell you till we get a patch that enables Win 2003 64 OS's to run it. Beta didn't seem too bad and it wasn't optimized - but yes, it is far more demanding.

Yes i am waiting for an x64 patch as well to find out what sort of resources it drains. How demanding was a dedicated beta server? might give us some rough ideas of what to expect.
