  1. Was this AI also not moving and next to a base defense structure. Most likely was the driver to a guard tower or SAM site. If you know how to recreate this that would be great, when the driver is out of its structure the building does not work properly.

I can try it a few times. But you are right. Now that you mention it, I have never seen the bug off of whiteout but I do see it fairly often, every so many games, on whiteout, and it is usually between the warfactory and walls, indicating you are probably right, it is apparently trying to pilot air thinking it is a base defence or a vehicle?

It will be a defensive structure glitch no doubt or if a building has been destroyed then it'll be the robot from the WF/AIR or whatever. Known glitch.

  2. I'm with the non-marathoners on this one. Obviously anyone has the right to run whatever kind of server they see fit, but I disliked marathon enough myself that I actually LEASED a dedicated server and installed the RenX server on it for a month.

Know how many people ever connected?

Eight. Total. Never more than one at the same time.

So there's $100 that I'll never get back and I didn't even get the gameplay I'd hoped for.

You and all the "non-marathoners" are more than welcome over at TheMatrixRen :) We have time limits and cookies! :P

  3. It doesn't relate to C&C Renegade per se as xwis is still operational, plus a server listing tool known as Renlist was recently updated to use a different server other than GSA. Revora don't see any reason at this present moment in time, to devote even more resources to a game that is already widely accessible.

  4. Beta 3 isn't ready yet, otherwise it would be open beta 3.

What's the point of releasing something if it creates more problems than what it solves?

It's much better to wait until it's complete and stable, this way it will bring players back and not drive even more players away.

Just be patient and let the devs do their thing.

Hello everyone! We are proud to present to you C&C:Online, the community-driven GameSpy replacement!

    Like us on Facebook!

Below you will find all the information we currently have to share.

    WHAT IS C&C:ONLINE?

C&C:Online is a GameSpy emulating server for modern Command & Conquer, created and hosted by Revora.

It's based on our T3A:Online project for BFME, adapted to work for all the Command & Conquer games affected by the GameSpy closure (Generals, Zero Hour, C&C 3, Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3).

GameReplays.org will be working with Revora in managing, developing and promoting the new online service.

C&C:Online lets you use the game's native online interface, exactly like you are used to now (no LAN). It works by using a simple launcher that redirects traffic to our server. In order to participate in the new service, you will need to download the C&C:Online launcher for your game(s), and create an account at Revora. Your Revora account name is then synchronised to be your new "EA" account name. Don't worry, you will still be able to choose different nicknames.

While we cannot realistically expect everybody that is currently using the official online service to move to C&C:Online with us, we hope that our service can convince a sizeable number of users. We have every reason to look forward to a bright future for our games and communities.

    C&C:Online is supported by:

    WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

Very soon. Make sure to keep an eye on the C&C:Online Facebook page.

Once it is released, we will post links to the new C&C:Online website, from which you will be able to download the C&C:Online clients, as well as find installation instructions and links to support and community forums at Revora.

    HOW MUCH IS DONE?

We are confident that we can release C&C:Online for all five affected C&C titles (Generals, Zero Hour, C&C 3, Kane's Wrath, and Red Alert 3) simultaneously, in time for the GameSpy shutdown.

The first release will contain the following features for all titles:

    Playing games

    Hosting and joining games

    Chat functions

    Buddy systems

The server is still under heavy development at the moment in order to make it by June 30. The basics (login, chat, buddy system) for all games are working, but the listing of Generals and Zero Hour games in the lobby is still somewhat problematic. We're doing our best not to let you guys down!

    WHAT WILL BE DONE LATER?

After the initial release, we will continue development to add more features.

    We will be working on:

    Statistics

    Ranking

    Automatch systems

Together with GameReplays we are looking into a method to verify users that want to keep their old nicknames (to prevent impersonation), and to link these to existing statistics and rankings.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

We need this news to be spread as far across the global C&C community as possible, so help us spread the word!

We could also really use some donations! Revora is a non-profit association, and so all proceeds go towards server costs and improving our infrastructure.

    btn_donate_LG.gif

In the same vein, if you happen to own a VPS hosting company and have a spare server, we would really appreciate the support. We will host C&C:Online on Revora's dedicated server for now, but with so many players this is probably not a viable long-term solution.

  6. Hello there,

If you're looking to play with other people, feel free to visit the TmX community at http://www.thematrixren.com

We pride ourselves on providing a fun environment for our players and our dedicated moderators ensure that your game is as stress free as possible, by ensuring that our rules are followed. They're players themselves, which is why they dedicate their free time to ensure that our server be the best that it can be.

They're always willing to help out with tactics and the various controls/commands. ingame, through teamspeak and of course on IRC.

    Our information is as follows:

    Website: www.thematrixren.com

    Teamspeak: ts.thematrixserver.com

    IRC: irc.thematrixserver.com

I hope to see you soon & welcome to the game. :)

  7. Looking forward to this. Seeing as tmx is always full , i can assume we will also fill up on a server with 64 spaces as well. might need a higher vehicle limit to match though.

Essentially stopped playing at this point because of the player cap so I can't wait. 40 is my minimum, worst part being is every match it empties out to hell and the match is won randomly by either side's boring first 5 minutes stunt.

64 players and the crash fix will help that.

Yeah crashes certainly are the most annoying, everyone wants them fixed.

Obviously the vehicle count will be getting increased if we decide to bump up the player count.

Rest assured though, everything will be open to public discussion on our forums before we decide to do anything. In my opinion, I can see it going upto 50 or something to start off with and not 64 though, if it's what the community wants.

  8. (for some reason I can't quote)

Truxa: I didn't know he was an admin at the time I accused him. Normally I drop things like this right after I point it out, just to let them know "Hey I caught you", but everyone kept asking me what he did and every time I explained it he got pist.

Agent/TmX: Ya it was the TmX (Matrix right) server. I'm assuming I am banned because every time I try to join I get kicked back to the main menu. This account is not my main, I used it to see if it was an IP ban or name ban.

This is the only incident I could think got me banned and it happened over a week ago.

TmX: Don't know who it was, sorry.

Firstly, I can assure you that you definitely wouldn't have been banned for accusing someone of anything, you may have been vote kicked by player majority (I've seen it happen) but a moderator certainly wouldn't do so, without a good reason.

I have searched extensively and i have been unable to find any record of you being kicked or banned at TmX.

Was Skethicus the nick you used when you played? If so, I can find no information regarding any ban placed on you.

Please feel free to either pm me any further details, post in this thread or visit our forums and post a new thread here: http://www.thematrixren.com/f40-rx-kicked-or-banned

I'd very much like to get this resolved for you, if I can.

  9. Sean":1exbqa46]When vehicle lag & crashing on map change no longer occurs.

Is this a realistic goal? Due to the geographical dispersal of players, isn't lag due to latency inevitable? If this seems like a stupid question, keep in mind I don't have a background in IT, server management, or game design.

You have to remember that Renegade X is in beta, so some things are going to be a bit wonky.

The player count was only temporarily reduced to 40 to reduce vechicle lag/crashes.

The key is in that statement ^ "temporarily". When changes/optimizations are made I certainly believe that the player count will be going back up.

To answer your question about latency - I can't speak for other servers but TheMatrixRen AOW attracts players from both sides of the pond and I hardly ever hear about latency issues, so from this I can only ascertain that this isn't a issue.

  10. Happens on matrix server aswell ...

    Pa30PvF.jpg

but tbh i feel te in front of a name really is annoying and far from funny or anyhing

Thank you for bringing this to our attention - it has been brought up internally.

May I apologise for the players offensive comments.

However, may I also just state that it was a random comment and it wasn't in response to one of our players providing feedback.

  11. Glacious,

I can understand that it may be a bit silly to use the tag - but nevertheless if a member of EKT (which represents your community) insults a player by calling him/her a retard then it's in bad taste and doesn't exactly give your community a good image.

I agree completely with Truxa that when commenting on a server specific setting, the player should be thanked for their feedback and not openly insulted.

It could have been handled better.

    Truxa:

In response to our server always being full, we're taking steps to open up our clan server during peak times/weekends to better address this.

  12. Hey guys,

Renegade X is certainly getting more and more competitive.

TmX & EKT played against eachother in Renegade X's first community match.

Result: TmX won 2.1 against EKT.

    Both teams played extremely well.

    We recorded some footage: gY5vLgE3Rzc

A special thanks to the developers/beta testers for getting this far and enabling us to have this community match.

Special thanks to EKT & TmX for taking part.
