  1. The problem is you reach a point where one team has lost one or two buildings and is clearly heading for a defeat in most circumstances. Yet the game can drag out for a long time until the winning team actually wins.
  2. Removing the head shot bonus from the Heavy Pistol would seem inconsistent with most other weaponry in the game, yeah you can get a headshot with the basic Raptor Rifle but you can't with this Pistol? Just remove their additional Timed C4 and make it something you have to buy for credits if a change must be made.
  3. Why not spawn Hotwire/Tech with a Silenced Machine Pistol and offer them the ability to buy a alternative weapon. For example they could spend 500 credits to buy a Heavy Pistol. Its far more justifiable for a Hotwire/Tech to be able to hold their ground or be on the offensive if the total cost for them is 850+ credits than just 350 credits (this is excluding ideas of buying explosives)
  4. Perhaps underlying, italicising and/or bolding player text would go a ways to make player typed communications more prominate.
  5. For attentive/veteran players its not a big deal, but newer players, or simply anyone who's very preoccupied with a task no matter their skill, may and will miss information/communication being given by other team members.
  6. I'm pretty certain the Nod APC is a US Army Stryker IAV. Real Life In Game This actually raises a interesting point. In Real Life the Stryker came into service in 2002, and did not enter full production until 2007, whereas the First Tiberium War takes place in the 1990s. Though one could present several arguments as to why the Stryker exists. The War lasted for three years, if the war started in 1999 then in theory the war would've gone on long enough for the Stryker to come into service and by acquired by Nod somehow. Nod has always placed a high value on high tech units, you could try and justify that Nod somehow acquired the Stryker plan and rushed production ahead of schedule. (This would explain why only Nod is using this more advance APC whereas GDI is still using the much older M113 APC, which was developed in the 60s (or early 50s considering Red Alert 1) The fact that the Tiberium universe is a bit out of whack in terms of technological advancements, you can argue the US Army developed the Stryker a lot earlier in their time line than in ours.
  7. Renegade X is a very team oriented game where a good level of team coordination can significantly change the tide of a battle. With this in mind, I find the current 'team chat' system to be lacking. Right now if you communicate in team chat, you're text appears in you're factions colour, red for NOD and gold for GDI. While this serves the basic need of showing that you're talking in team, and not all chat, but the big issue is that you're text is placed alongside every other team generic/spot message. It can be difficult for players to notice a player communicating in between the large amount of messages about 'Defend the Harvester!' or 'Repair the Power Plant!' messages. With that in mind I think that team chat options need to be more visually distinct and easier to notice in comparison to the generic messages very often given.
  8. Commando is just a name, you can call it a Demolitions class.
  9. I suggested splitting the class since it achieves several objectives. First and foremost it reduces how flexible the one class is, with the class split you have to chose what you want to do, do you want to be a superior engineer or do you want to carry enough explosives to level a building/asset? Secondly with the class split you can afford to better balance the new 'commando' class WITHOUT impacting the Adv Engineer and their ability to deploy mines in the base at the appropriate time.
  10. If the stated goal is to make Hotwire/Technician less versatile then why don't we simply split the classes role into two separate roles. Have a Advance Engineer retain access to the Advance Repair Gun, and has access to Proximity Mines. However the Adv Engineer only has access to a Silenced Pistol for self defence, and does not have access to Remote C4 and only a single block of Timed C4 You then have a new class, whom I'll refer to as the Commando class, who has the Heavy Pistol, and multiple Remote and Timed C4. But does not have access to Proxy Mines. The Commando can either not spawn with a repair tool, or spawn with a 'free' repair gun that has a low ammo pool akin to buying a repair gun. ---- The Adv Engineer takes on a defensive role of being a superior Engineer, but lacks any real staying power in direct combat. The Commando takes on the offensive role, being able to attack and destroy enemy buildings and certain strategic assets, and has some staying power with their Heavy Pistol/Remote C4.
