Fishyshoe
Hi, I know I wrote about this in the main sub-forum (not many replies there), so I figured I might try here. Ever since the last update (5.469d) I'm experiencing much longer loading times. It happens when loading the game itself, when a new map starts, and even when quitting a server - it takes a while before I'm back in the main menu. That never happened before. Usually these things took about 10 seconds or so. Now it feels like they take 2 or 3 times longer... The game works fine otherwise. I tried reinstalling the game from scratch - doesn't seem to help. I run 64 bit. My specs: i7-8700K RTX 2080Ti 32GB RAM (3000MHz) 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (Samsung 970evo) Windows 10 64bit Home Is this a known issue, or is it something fishy (ha! ) on my end? Does anyone else experience it? Thanks in advance!
Fishyshoe
Whoops! I may have posted in the wrong sub-forum If I did, please move this topic to Technical Support! Thanks (sorry!) Edited December 30, 2020 by Fishyshoe
Totem Arts Staff yosh56 Posted December 30, 2020 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted December 30, 2020 Can you open the game, load a map, then give us your log file? My first thought is just it's failing to build and/or save shaders. If it's failing to save them for you then you'd have longer load times permanently, as it rebuilds them every single time you load a map. This reminds me of the issue we talked about on another topic (where the SDK re-asked me to build shaders every time I started it). Could this be the same problem? If it is, how does one solve it, if it's even possible? A windows clean-install (which I'm not sure is worth it)? Launch.log
