my pc hangs when trying to install the game. help.

Hi.

I had the game installed. And i had played with it. Then one day it installed an update and i think this broke the game. It hanged when trying to open the game. 

So i uninstalled and downloaded the installer again. So after the initial installation, i open the game "for the first time" and it asks about really installing the game. So i click yes and here the installation hangs. My whole system freezes. Not just the installation. 

And thats it. What do? Help pls.

Im using windows 10, with ryzen 3 1300x, amd rx 590, 8gb ram.

Ensure you have enough disk space (~8-10GB) if the initial download/install is hanging. 

When you say it hangs, do you mean it just doesn't download, or does the entire window actually freeze?

hi. thaks for the answer! 

yes, i have enough disk spae. about 246 free GB. 

And what I mean is that the whole window, and then after a minute or two the whole system, freezes.

Have you looked at the permissions on the 'Renegade X' folder? 

If you right click on the folder > go to 'properties' > and look under the 'Security' tab, it should say that the 'Everyone' group has 'Full Access' to the folder. If it doesn't, you can add that group and give it access.

 

That should also solve you having issues with not being able to update game settings/ini files, and causing the game to lock up after updates.
