Launcher won't open

I downloaded the launcher from the site, but every time I try to open it, I just get the loading wheel for about half a second, then nothing. I've already tried to uninstall then reinstall 5 times. What do I do?

Looks like this is happening to a decent amount of people. Several posts about this since january of this year.
