These spots completely block the view of anyone that walks into them. I believe they also block bullets, as well as Oblesk Aggression, but that may depend on the mesh-by-mesh basis.

The most annoying point is, SBH can hit and run, and if you chase them, they morph into the rocks, and even if you are wise and know they are there, you have to move your character into the rock with them to shoot them, where they can slide off the rock or whatever and just run off.
