I happened to be standing next to the guy in question when it happened and it indeed seemed quite long. Luckily there was a demo recording of the entire game, including the "incident" I made these screenshots from within the recording: I wasn't sure if the Volt also had some defects in the recording as the repair gun (infinite visual range), so I tried to replicate the situation a bit. Here are my results: Another mod however told me he'd seen the volt bug out sometimes during beta 1 and thought this might have been the same.
