For some reason when I launch the game it starts, but I get the no input as if I have unplugged the monitor. Any ideas why?

Black Screen on Start (with audio):

Most likely, the game has defaulted to an unsupported resolution.

Navigate to to the Config folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config" by default) and open "UDKSystemSettings.ini"

Locate "ResX" and "ResY" and set to your monitor's resolution.

For example:

ResX=1920

ResY=1080

Save the .ini and start the game.

Should this affect my abilty to link to other servers, as now the sever list is empty? Take no notice, it appears to be my fire wall, I have have to figure out what it's blocking.
