Renegade X Leaderboard and Release Date

the Ranking will be online in the first hour until release or what says the plan?

And we can expect the "Downloadbutton" on 26.02.14 at 0.00 o´clock GMT or another Timezone?

If you wish to be listed on the leaderboard you have to also be signed in to steam while playing the game. That and eventually clanwars (when automatic reporting is implemented) are the only reasons to have steam signed in while playing though. It is in no way required to play.

Not sure. It has to be linked to your username anyway though, so it could be either, really.

I just want to clarify: for the basic leaderboard (not the clanwars one) you will need Steam.

And what is source of information, did a dev say this?

No, Steam will be optional in Open Beta, but it will be recommended. You will need to run Steam in order to get your stats on the leaderboard (and will be needed for clanwars also).

This was in the private beta forums. As it is important news for players though, I think me saying it here shouldn't be a problem.

Steam will be required for the clanwars.cc ladder as that is how we are going to auth.

You will need to have Steam running to be counted for the Ren X leaderboard aswell as for the clanwwars.cc leaderboard. It would simply be too much work for us to implement our own authentication system and Steam does the Job just fine.
