Playing Online - ORIGINAL RENEGADE

Hey everyone,

I just re-downloaded the original cnc renegade (from 2002) and was wondering how to play online?? I noticed that all the servers were gone! Any help would be great b/c I really miss the game and can't wait for the new one to come out. I tried to get gamespy but I couldn't download it properly. Thanks for the help!

The servers are not gone you just need to register an account here: http://xwis.net/forums/ (I believe someone correct me if I am wrong)

Also make sure you download scripts 4.0 now-a-days most servers require either scripts 4.0 or scripts 3.4.4.

Edit: Also, you said you "re-downloaded" Renegade. If you don't have a valid serial, don't bother with XWIS, unless you buy a new serial from them (I don't remember if they're still doing that, but hopefully there will be instructions for that on their site). You'll have to direct connect to servers that provide their IPs or try something like Renlist.

it's not that hard to play Renegade online without XWIS, really. you need to install renegade with a random serial, then install 4.0 on it, then use Renlist to get a server list. GameSpy Arcade also supports this game, so
