Totem Arts Staff [NE]Fobby[GEN] Posted January 16, 2011 Totem Arts Staff Share Posted January 16, 2011 Unreal Tournament 3 + C&C Renegade = Tiberium Magic September 30, 2009 Totem Art's Unreal Tournament 3 mod Renegade X is a based on Command & Conquer: Renegade, the only FPS game in the Command & Conquer universe. This mod has lots of hype behind it already, winning many awards and even receiving endorsements from EA Games. Many crazy fans lay in poised anticipation for its release, and the mod team invited the FilePlanet Editors to take a sneak peak at the beta along with many other VIPs to experience the carnage first hand... From my experience Renegade X stays true to the original Command & Conquer: Renegade formula but has key improvements that make it a must download mod for any Command & Conquer fan. First off, the mod just looks awesome on the Unreal Engine 3. It is just leaps and bounds graphically better than the original game but still looks and feels likes the genuine deal. It has shiny new models, stunning vehicles, detailed infantry units and weapons, and splendid maps. The maps are a battlefield of an advanced physics effects, crisp sounds, and explosive dramatic effects that make an unforgettable grand entrance. [NOD Faction Screenshots] The essence of Renegade X is about recreating the multiplayer aspect of C & C Renegade. The goal in the mod is destroy all buildings on the enemy faction base while protecting your own base. Each building serves a key purpose for each team to buy vehicles, powering base defenses, or buying commando units. The first lines of defense are normal infantry units available to players. Using harvested tiberium, players can upgrade to special commandos to infiltrate the enemy base or buy support vehicles and tanks to punish the enemy. Repair engineers are available to repair damaged units, vehicles, and buildings. Understanding when and what units to use are important to exploiting key matchups to win the battle. Teamwork is also a key element to success. [GDI Faction Screenshots] As most C & C fans already know, the GDI and NOD are rival factions that have different units. Renegade X has stuck to the formula with classic GDI and Nod units. The GDI have explosive infantry units, massive tanks, and of course, Havok. The NOD have intimidating flame units, stealth tanks that sneak up on the enemy, and their own commados. I do suggest playing on both sides to find which suits your style. Totem Art's isn't content with what they already accomplished. They promise more content to be released in upcoming patches adding more maps, units, gameplay modes, vehicles and features. http://www.fileplanet.com/fileblog/archives/2009/09/entry_2703.shtml
