  1. Messing with people is pretty fun. Like being a Mingebag on Garry's Mod. I don't know how many people know what that is, but if they do they'd probably know that it's fun.

Not that I support the bastards. That's why we have vote-kick, right?

how do you votekick someone when they copy a regular player's name and it changes every second?

Hit ctrl then N the what ever number is for kick I think its 5. Then it will bring up a list of names with the player id all you do is find their id and type it in. Really really easy to find the ones that have the name changer, because it will actually update the name in the list as soon as it changes. But it can be hard to get everyone else to vote yes...

  2. You can capture them with engineers , use the repair gun on purchase terminal . After capture you can access to Tiberium Flechette and Tiberium Auto Rifle . I don't know if it has another purpose .

You also get creds over time from owning the silo.

  3. My biggest gripe right now is the fact that Hotwires and Tecs can use the better weapons. Like the tib rifle or upgraded sidearms. These classes are already powerful in their role, making them able to easily outclass many of the infantry classes too is a little too powerful. Right now it is hard to notice, but wait until more people learn the game and see the importance of these units. In the original Ren most people ran around with a tech or hotwire, now there will be even more reason to use them and less reason to use the other units.

The side arm weapons are bugged right now. They are only supposed to last until you die. If they worked as intend the hotwire would cost 350+the cost of the weapon each life. I also feel the tib auto rifle should have its damaged reduced since you don't have to hit your target to damage them.

  4. I know I shouldn't need to say these but after all the matches I played in I feel I must.

GDI's Main Battle tank is the Medium tank not the Mammoth.

NOD's Main Battle tank is the Light, not the Stealth or Flame tanks.

Also Stealth tanks should not be fighting along side of Light tanks in the field they should be flanking the enemies then attacking. Flames tanks Don't have the range so staying back and shooting at the enemy doesn't do anything.

  5. How about this. We make them 350 credits. That way you have a choice between a Hotty/Tech OR your character of choice with a shitty sidearm repair gun and no defensive sidearm. One choice is defensive, the other is offensive.

I say if you make the repair gun something everyone can buy, the person gives up their side arm. Since going engie/hotty/tech makes you give up your primary weapon. But I think it would also have to repair slower then the normal engie's repair gun.

Let's put health kits in random places in the maps. Not random, obviously. Just a few per map. Hidden places. This would be especially helpful for big maps.

They do it's the random death crates but they can refill everything for you character health and ammo.

  6. Are you kidding, the Stealth Tank is a beast when used the way it is intended. You don't attack full health targets head on. You sneak behind the enemy while your team is pounding them and then pick the right moment to attack an already weak tank. Running over their engie support in the process if you can.

Works with Mammy's like a charm and sneaking up behind an MRLS is a guaranteed victory for the stank. By the time they know what's happening they're already at critical health most of the time.

Field has always felt wrong to me (also in the original) because the map is focused on taking out the enemy base through a single entrance. This is where superious firepower wins the match and obviously GDI has an advantage here. When there's 3 Mammy's pounding the entrance there is no 'sneaking around'. Anything that drives outside is instantly violently blasted to pieces. And getting back there with infantry is hard enough with all the snipers hiding in the bunkers. It's really not a well designed map in my opinion. The matches where Nod gets the upper hand are few and far between and are often triggered by GDI's ref getting nuked, thus cutting their income to buy tanks.

The laser of the SBH does feel a little underpowered compared to what I remember from the original. The Tiberium Auto Rifle seems to outperform almost any other rapid fire weapon in the game because of its splash damage and poisoning.

Of all the things that I think need to be nerfed a bit is the Tib Auto Rifle. Does more damage then the flechette but you don't have to hit your target. Unless they have it setup to do less damage as splash I don't know. I have yet to test it out.

  7. Most of the time that's because everyone on GDI is afraid to push. You can easily plant an Ion and cover it with meds and mammies, attack another building, or storm the inside with infantry and kill the repairers. Simply sieging a building won't destroy it because someone on Nod will just get a Tech and afk-repair the MCT.

Agree sitting out side of the base doesn't kill anything, unless it a AOW game where it might be better for the defenders to let the building die.

  8. If you get too close to an enemy, or he gets too close to you, you can be seen. The same happens when you get shot. You become unstealthed temporarily when you shoot, and remain permanently unstealthed under 50 HP until your HP is repaired to above 50 again.

I believe the unstealthed health limit is 25. I know I have been at about 30 and still stealthed.

  9. I don't see why this should not be allowed. But I also don't like players that do this.

It's selfish and borderline team hampering since your basically hogging up the proximity mine limit just so you can halfway kill an enemy tank.

Mines are better spent defending your base. Not as an offensive tactic.

Now, if you want to use remote C4, then by all means go ahead. (Remotes and mines don't share the same limit in RenX as far as I know.)

    They do I tested it.

  10. I'm an old school player, was in SFV back in 2003 fought against KOSS and NXC a few times.

I've been waiting for this remake for some time now and I have a rant to go on. I love GDI, always been my favorite, but I'm noticing a trend here. Nod hardly wins, at least in my games.

    The good

-Artys new blast radius and arcing shot is nice for taking out engineers

    -SBH with nukes still great

    -Flame tank still decent

    The bad

-Flamethrower and Chem trooper feel terrible. Like if I'm not shooting a MCT I might as well have been a different unit

-Stealth Tank damage is weak and almost never worth purchasing. It always shined on maps like Volcano and Complex which are not here yet. It's pretty much worthless on the current rotation.

-Light tank feels the same. Problem is the Mammoth tank doesn't feel the same and outclasses it immensely.

-Raveshaw (and Sydney) the 1000 credit anti-vehicular units both feel bad, like "why did I spend my money on this unit" bad. I remember back in the day when you were flooded with med tanks on Fields you would get 5-6 people rocking Raveshaw and start taking them to town. Now I wouldn't even recommend wasting your money on him. Seriously there is no way he is a direct copy paste from the original. He feels really bad.

-Laserchain gunner is pretty inferior to Gunner, not a lot but it's not a good 450 credit tradeoff

-Arty got arcing shots while the MRL got rotating missile bays with lock on. Arty didn't win in the buff wars here.

-Medoza (and Mobius) hit hard but their range feels REALLY short. Did their range get nerfed?

As it stands, besides Sakura, the most money I spend on anything Nod has to offer is an Arty or Chaingunner. Their expensive toys do not feel their weight in credits. I've been playing everyday since the open beta came out, and I denied it at first, but Nod definitely is in need of some buffs.

If the map has AGT/Obelisk, chances are Nod loses the game unless GDI is just an overall bad team. Nod can't really beat a decent GDI team atm when defenses are around. At least on maps like Islands and Walls_Flying they can abuse SBH/Nuke, but if I load into Fields now as Nod I either swap to GDI or I log off the server.

    Nod needs buffs.

I think people just need to learn how to play NOD and stop trying to play it like their GDI. NOD was never a brute for faction it just won't work unless you manage to steal all of GDI's vehicles. Also with the fact that everyone tires to go lonewolf doesn't help their chances either it's a team based game but no one want to do rushes or take a chance on dieing. The only times I see someone not going in rushes is 1. their doing base defense. or 2. they have a enemy vehicle. (which as long as they have the vehicle that is one less the enemy can have.)

  11. One thing you might try is going into the Nividia control panel and set it to use your GPU instead of auto select. This is the first game where I have had to manually set it to use the GPU. As for the other cards you guys might look and see if it has something similar to it.

The thing is that I DID try that. Still, the NVidia overlay still tells me that i'm using the CPU instead of the GPU.

*yea, the interface is in russian, but it should be understandable anyway*

Also, if you are talking about the place that I should be able to change the used graphics processor, well:

    X2Wok8F.png

This is what it looks like.

And this is how it looks on systems that have actually two GPUs:

    image.png

So I just don't have the option to choose one, because there is nothing to choose. For some reason, Renegade X just keeps using the CPU for rendering, no matter what I do :(

Did you select the UDK Program because that option only over rides the setting for the program selected. Unless you set it to use the nividia card in the global settings.

  12. To make it as authentic as Renegade as possible, no locking. It is possible to do though.

However, it is also a balance thing, it should require double player attention. That way, it can't be a dump heal, instead it is a trickle heal or a heal hidden out of combat.

If the teammate isn't cooperating with the heal, he isn't doing his part for the heal. It requires him being hit-able and you firing you healgun BOTH to make a heal happen. When one of those things doesn't happen, it isn't your fault and they get what they deserve. I mean, if you are climbing a tall wall, and you are ready to vault the other guy up but he doesn't try to jump into your hands, then you are doing your part and no amount of help will fix it.

IDEA: This is totally not very "Renegade", but I was thinking it would actually be more balanced/realistic if the repair gun only repaired infantry "armor" and not health. That way, it isn't a heal but armor replacement, and the "welding" effect makes sense because it is armor and not a person which you are welding. Just a thought. That would be cool.

I don't think he is wanting it to be fixed for combat healing but for more of healing on the run. It seems like its almost impossible to heal someone your running behind.

  13. It was just a basic damage test vs a mammoth tank.

At all, imo, It's overpowered damage vs a mammoth tank. There are 4 basedefense structurs.

2 each in the video showen. They take down a mammoth in zero reload time if they target all at one.

The second base defense got the LockOn feature.. So it isn't that hard to hit a mammoth tank. And cmon.. It's a mammoth tank, not a Humvee to target.

All other types of vehicles are nearly 1shot. The Mammoth Tank has 1200 health and is down in 20seconds by 1 structur.

1 shot by the 2nd structur and almost 20% are gone.

It's a remake of a map that had base defense, if a team did a full out med or light tank rush they could probably kill all 4 turrets losing 1 or 2 tanks. That is a lot easier to take out then the tower that was in each base.
