  1. Thanks for the quick reply and tip. This is interesting, I think 30 in plenty to cover a whole base is you apply 2 mines per entry, choke point etc. My only concern is that I've seem some players place 10 mines on a single entry, which most probably made some essential mine placements disappear.

  2. Somehow people are selecting invisible characters. No not SBH. Completely invisible on GDI with Mendoza gun or sniper. Guys name was WacoTexas something in The Fury Pound server

The music and effects are retarded loud when you launch game - and that is often cause it crashes all the time during map change.

Both server browsers are broken. In game one will join diff one than u selected and doesnt show ping.

Out of game one crashes when you press refresh ping

Vehicles lag. Steering is clunky and horrible.

Snipers shoot too slow, reloads take forever. Same with rav.

Both apache and orca are crap, 20 round clip or something?

Colors are way too dark, in game chat is odd and makes players non responsive and dont read it.

    Doors on buildings are glitchy

Purchase terminals are gloomy and odd.

PLEASE just make it like the old renegade.

Speaking of that, i think im gona go try n play the old one.

Was so excited for this to come out :( what a let down. I guess it is still beta tho.

    \rant

    Beta.

The team has done an excellent job!

  3. I can take care of a Mammoth quite easily in a STank, I just use hit and run tactics when facing a mammy. make sure you can find cover as well when you circle around it. Although it's damage does need a small increase.

Hahaha, that makes the two of us!

I think stank is balanced well. What it lacks with hp, armour and damage it makes up with stealth, speed and precision.

    Do not underestimate the stank!

  4. Be mindfull of the battle, dont bring a mammoth to a chokepoint map, you will delay the entire siege and possibly kill everyone.

While mammoths are the strongest health and dmg wise they are the weakest in mobility and cost wise, you can rareley escape in a mammoth, +it is easy to hit with everything, and it is crispy free cake points to shoot at for the enemy team.

I have seen alot of GDI loses the last couple of days because of overuse on mammoths, sometime the faster and smaller medium tank is just better.

Gunner rushes are the most easy and fast way to take down a building get 5-10 in a group and take down the airstrip from fx. tunnels on fields. in seconds.

Take 3 sbh to a building and plant timed c4. Just stand back and wait while the c4 runs out and destroys the building with the enemy having no clue.

Solid advice here, take note rooksters :D

  5. The PSU checks out based on specs, good power output and brand. That is unusual, that CPU model should not need to resort to full load to handle UE3.

You will have to rely on process of elimination to drill down to the possible cause. I would start with the software side of things, reinstall the game (clear registry files), drivers and if you have to reinstall/repair OS. If that doesn't fix the problem you will have move on to hardware (swap around any spare parts etc).

I inspect and clean (fans, air vents etc) my machine every 3 months and by doing that check that all cables sockets are firmly secure.

I try to keep things fairly clean because I have encountered dust buildup or loose components issues before.

  6. Hi Fox,

One capable system judging by the specs however you didn't specify one very critical conponent, your PSU. PSU is the heart of you system as it pump volts (heart = blood) through your system enabling all other conponents to function. If the PSU is under powered or inconsistant the voltage current can start to flactuate above nominal threshfold and cause system performance issues (high/low blood pressure).

Can you state your full PSU specs.

  7. Hi Palexon,

Judging by your system spec I can safely say that the processor is definitely up to the job. The RAM has enough memory however I am not certain which frequency/latency it is running, although it should also be good enough. Unfortunately the GPU is a low end ATI offering which is now a few generations old, it is definitely the bottleneck in this scenario.

Before you touch any of the hardware I would recommend that you play around with the graphics setting, gradually reduce them until you hit playable frame rates. If you have a budget I would recommend a GPU upgrade, perhaps a Radeon 6950, they are quite cheap now, don't use too much power and should play this game with ease.

    Cheers,

  8. So what would happen if you walked in range of the obby and immediately walked out while it was charging?

That was used to "glitch" the obby back in Renegade and servers would kick you for doing it.

When someone walks into the ob's range, it will charge. If that person leaves the range, the ob will hold the charge for a few seconds. This held charge is indicated by the tip of the obelisk glowing bright red. Anyone who happens to walk into it's range while this charge is held will be blasted; the charge isn't focused on you.

So, I suppose you could hug a wall and keep making the obby charge and hold it... but I'd see that only becoming an annoyance to everyone and a hamper to your own team. Annoying since everyone hears the charging sound. A hamper since any GDI who walks in range of the ob will be insta-killed instead of having time to find cover while it's charging.

I'd say if you wanna waste time doing that then be my guest.

    That is hilarious! Love it!
