nice, tbh I didn't really think you would get it either... I mean everyone can claim they lost the code...

QUOTE (Pr0eX @ Feb 9 2009, 03:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>we are not planning to include Air-Vehicles to the first beta, so there are no dramtical changes for now. Also if we think the more lockable system breaks the gameplay, we will change it.[/b]
Also you could if the lockables make it too good, make other weapons less efficient vs aircraft, like the ramjet and such -
QUOTE (orca234 @ Feb 9 2009, 03:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If there is one thing that I would like to see in Renegade X (although I doubt it would be possible) is for infantry with rockets launchers to have homing in rockets like the stealth tank, Mammy, MRLS, and aircraft do.[/b]
Why should that not be possible? If the renegade engine can do it (and it can, the mod "A path beyond" have it) then I se NO reason why the UT3 engine shouldn't be able to -
and well if you preferred to use arrows you could just remap the strafing to the arrows. I use WASD. About not using strafing? 0o weird I as good as always strafe when I go out around and corner, that way I already face whatever enemies is just around the corner

nah seriously... what is better about FF... ehmm... a LOT far more to make a list here really, one major advatage are all the add ons so the possible functions you can get into FF is near limitless, and range from spell checker over better tab management to site rating (ie you can see if a site is safe to visit before you go there).
In terms of security actually I read an interesting article, technically IE is actually more secure, though far more attacks are made aimed towards IE than FF, in the end meaning you get less attack to go through in FF

QUOTE (Demigan @ Feb 7 2009, 11:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Tunnel nukes: a nuke would make the tunnel collapse on top of the one who placed it (for some reason these are tactical nukes/ion strikes that have a small area of effect, and the beacon is protected by the one who placed it usually). On top of that, we could say that the amount of rock and stuf in between interferes with the signal, making targetting much harder for the nuke/ion cannnon. So to prevent friendly fire they wouldn't fire. (If you prefer RPG reasons, read above)[/b]
well the thing is WHY do they not kill friendly units... basically... don't even TRY to bring any sort of realism to something that has to do with Renegade (or just the whole C&C genre/universe in all -
well it works fine for me and I use FF 3.0.6

yeah I rather wait an extra year and then get a properly done mod that having it right away filled with bugs, abusable glitches game imbalances and so on (and that even if I wasn't a VIP )

So EA bought out themselves... GG

well it is thanks to EA that Westwood is no more, if EA never bought up WW I am pretty sure WW would still exist today -

or even the day before release (Europe) >_> -
heh I should know oxi very bad if he want to just have a normal server, without adding something himself
but damn yeah would be nice if oxi hosted a server when this is released, giving it same treatment as APB (and a few other games too I heard).

Congrats guys

hmm... very good question... not really sure what did in the first place, but well I always been a C&C fan, and seeing a great game like Renegade getting transfered to a better engine might be it... wait I don't really think I knew what an engine was in game terms when I first heard about it... argh... I really don't know what attracted me in the first place but I am damn glad I got attracted

QUOTE (pawkyfox @ Oct 4 2008, 02:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That looks more like an exclusive Nod uber shotgun. Was that a concept used for C&C3 Black Hand units before they made it to carry flamethrowers?[/b]
just my words there -
QUOTE (Combine 108 @ Sep 30 2008, 03:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Do you intend for this mode to take place on very large, custom maps? Because the default C&C maps won't be large enough to host more than a few buildings at a time. Plus, I think there's too much micromanagement in this for a RPS; players have to choose where to place buildings (and even might place them over entrances, etc.), deciding which buildings the powerplants would cover, etc.
But then I understand this is a concept only, it would be awesome to see a streamlined version of this some day after RenX releases.[/b]
hmm that could actually be a nice tactic placing a non-important building in an entrances... and then just outside the door that is in the base have the base defences, would be almost impossible to get into the base then, and well you could just do it like with like your seconds HoN or something so should they kill it it wont matter that much -

wouldn't it more be like only armor and no health?
Lack of leadership
in Renegade X

you can't really compare Renegade(X) with Empires, as there is no base building in renegade(X), which is one of the main functions of the commander in Empires(not the only, but one of them), and really a commander wouldn't work well in RenegadeX I think, or rather it would be pointless, there would be in a public game maybe 1% that would actually listen to the commander every 10 game, and organized games like clanwars you don't need an commander elected officially in the game
