Eh, for future convinience, would it be possible, to install the mod in a different directory by any chance? Or is it totally out of the question?

They should've done a torrent download. Start it yesterday, seed until it's like 95% ready..and then seed it to the end today when the release is due. That way the load on the servers would be A LOT smaller today.
