  1. Xphaze doesn't play Ren-X. I still have contact with MorDos and l00mpa. KronicNXC did play Ren-X for awhile but I don't think he still does. A majority of everyone else moved on to this thing called life.

    Tried it, graphics weren't that good and it's all P2W.

  3. -The scaling for light armor is opposite of Renegade. In ren 1-2 helis could scare the shit out of people but they kind of lost effectiveness if you tried to mass them most of the time. In renx 1-2 helis are pretty much a joke, while you can overwhelm anything fairly easily if you mass them.

    I agree. If people in Ren saw 1 apache or an orca in a clanwar, they were pretty much dominant. In Ren-X, I don't fear them as much. They feel weak to begin with.

    People should be able to hop on and play renx. Not xxx server's version of how they think renx should be. The maps have been out long enough that it's easy to figure out what a good vehicle and mine limit is. Really don't need servers running 16 vehicles and 400 mines, then being the only server with people on it. Will make it easier to get a consistent gameplay experience and make it easier for the devs to change things.

    Not the most elegant solution, but better overall.

    This change is all because you people are butt hurt over 1 server (EKT). That's not a good reason to change something just because a server is gaining players. If people want their server configured a different way, then that's the server owner's choice. If people are playing there, then they're obviously doing something right. I'm so sick of this so called "community's" mentality where they act like they're doing it for the "good of the people" when changes are really being made based off what 1 server is doing.

    If you don't like that server's minelimit, then don't play there. It's that simple. But don't go on changing things that effects everybody.

    I'm aware of the Light Tank showing, not sure how to fix that though.

    On another note this mutator has been set on hold for me for a while. I simply don't have enough time to work on this :(

    Probably because you have the code for the Tick Tank wrong. Maybe it isn't reading the right preset. Because none of the Tick Tank settings apply either.

    I've reported this bug since Beta 2 and it has still yet to be fixed. I bet it's a simple boolean expression that needs to be changed because even when you have the exact credits for a character, you can't buy it.

  7. amagata (or something like that) yesterday told us on the TMX AOW server that he apparently knew who it was and has him on Skype. Something about a guy wanting to market the game? It all sounded fishy and weird to me.

    You mean mutata. Same guy we were keeping an eye on before.

    I don't know how true his story is but the guy he's referring to is a ddoser that goes as far back as Tiberian Sun named lucafer66. He also attacked XWIS for awhile 2 years ago in Renegade trying to bring Jelly servers down. He came on IRC during that time trying to force people to pay him money so he would stop attacking the servers. Eventually the attacks stopped and we just moved on.

  8. Why would you pay money when you could just play on an existing server that already works?

    Coming from the guy who pays an extra $70 a month on top of the server bill just for Anti-DDoS.

    People put up servers to make their own communities and expand from there. You're basically asking people to revert from that. Did you honestly think other people would just shutdown their servers lol?

    This topic is just asking for fire.

  9. This is probably my biggest update as it fixes a lot of unattended bugs and exploits especially surrounding the kick/ban system. The bot is finally where I want it to be which is being stabled with very minor to no bugs at all.

    2.0 -> September 13, 2015

    - Added messages that will show when a bot has joined or left the game

    - Added extended kill messages to be more detailed

    - Added logging for when a player is kicked by a poll kick or idle kick

    - Added an option to enable/disable the bot's vehicle limit setter

    - Added an option to enable/disable the bot's mine limit setter

    - Added an !addbots command

    - Added a setting to set if you want any bots added at the beginning of each map

    - Added an in game !login command for mods to authenticate themselves if their steamid is on the modlist

    - Added a !cancelvote command (mod flag 'C')

    - Changed the !kill command to also work on bots

    - Changed the Poll_Kick output to show the player name being voted against instead of the ID

    - Fixed a few loop holes in the auto kick/ban system

    - Fixed the in game !takecredits not working at all

    - Fixed the in game !givecredits responding to IRC instead of in game

    - Fixed RCON settings not applying immediately on reboot or start

    - Fixed !pi/!pl not fetching bot count on some events

    - Fixed !bi/!bl not fetching building health on building destruction

    - Fixed neutral team kill messages on vehicles

    - Fixed invalid nickname detection auto kicker

    If you run any previous versions, you're going to have to copy the new renx.mrc, the cloudyserv.ini and cmds.ini so you will have to re-configure.

    Note that this is most likely my final version that will require you to reconfigure settings unless something in Renegade-X changes that forces me to add additional settings. Future versions of this bot will most likely just be bug fixes. The postponed medal/stats/ladder system will have its own configuration. That means in the future, you'll only have to replace the renx.mrc and cmds.ini (unless you just copy the new commands manually to the cmds.ini file).
