Ren X freezes at startup

Hey guys,

I want to hook up and old pc (win7 32-bit/msi k8t neo2/a64 x2 4800+/2GB DDR400/ati HD3850 agp SM 4) to renegade x.

So far no luck, the game freezes with a black screen and just the cursor, after loading the ren x splash screen.

I tried all the options stated here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=72023

Is there anything more I can try?

I remember those cards, had one years ago they were so good if you were stuck with agp at the time

I initially thought possibly that the supported shader model was too old, but the HD 3850 supports up to 4.1 while Ren X only requires 3.0 if I remember correctly. The only other thing I recommend you try is this win 32 bit fix. It works for most unreal engine games.

I deleted the movies map in the renegade x folder, WORKED!!!

I installed renegade x on pretty much every pc I have! Whooop

I've the same problem as the topic maker..

What did he do to make it work?

First i had it with version 1.. after a few weeks it work without any change.

After downloading version 3 i've the same problem again...
