Just like the original, where you had a hud hit indicator showing from which of 4 (8 sides) you're being shot from. Other than that and the sadly game breaking beacon wall glitch, loving this game! I posted about it in the private beta forums and included the manual description of the damage indicators as well. So I am assuming that the devs have seen it and that it will at least eventually be added. I don't believe it is in the first patch, though.
