Renegade X name not showing?

When I click on the Renegade X server client, I enter my name at the bottom left of that screen. Once I get into the Renegade X game, my name is just "Player". How can I get from "Player" to the name that I entered?

press tab and type setname NAME replacing NAME with whatever you want your name to be
