Ugh, I ran into this again this morning after last night's upgrade. So annoying! I really wished this issue was fixed. Reconfiguring is a pain in the arse. :(

Yes.
If you last played before the Daylights Savings Time change for the UK/US then you would have had your configs changed.
Its something to do with the UDK and DST...
Wow, a time change fix causing the settings reset?

I haven't played for over a few months and then finally upgraded to play, but my settings were resetted. It happened before too. What's up?

Currently there’s no way to make the launcher use 64-bit binaries. We are aware of the issues with the improper shut downs, thank you for letting us know you also have that issue. I’ve seen it a few times for myself, but it’s not consistent for me.
Thanks. Please add an option to use 64-bit EXE file in the future Launcher versions. So, you don't know the differences between 32-bit and 64-bit EXEs? As for the stuck UDK.exe, mine is always reproducable.

It still runs the x86 binary by default, to use the x64 binary, go to your Renegade X install folder, open the Binaries\Win64\UDK.exe
As for the process getting stuck, I believe that happens only for a fraction of the users, but is currently being investigated.
Thank you for the quick answer even though I went to bed right after posting. Is there a way to tell the launcher to use the 64-bit EXE? Does it make any differences between them? I noticed 32-bit UDK.exe uses a lot of RAM. IIRC, 32-bit process can only go up to 3 GB of RAM. Will the 64-bit EXE file be able to go higher than that with my 6 GB of RAM?

I just upgraded my old Renegade-X, but noticed a couple issues on my decade old 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC with 6 GB of RAM, ATI Radeon 4870 video card (512 MB of VRAM), etc. Shouldn't it be running 64-bit instead of 32-bit for me? Also, exiting the game leaves its Udk.exe process running even after exiting Renegade-X's Launcher.

Thanks all. This annoying bug should really be fixed even if it is minor.

Thanks all. That should be fixed in the future versions.

Was the default name in some of the older builds I believe. I used to have it. Now it's just 'Renegade X'
Hmm, I wonder why mine is showing the wrong titles then.

If I recall, it should be fine, if you have any issues afterwards use Reset Game from the launcher.
Thank you for the quick answer! If it is indeed safe, then the launcher/game should auto(purge/delete) them to free up wasted disk spaces.

It is hogging over 6 GB of disk space in my old, updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC. :(
-
FYI. On the same exact ancient machine, I was forced to install a new 64-bit (can use all 6 GB of RAM) W7 HPE SP1 due to a hard October 2016's HDD crash (clicks of death). So, I recently retried the game. It ran just fine.

Hello.
Are there any plans for Linux and Mac OS clients in the future?
Thank you in advance.

I would recommend using this link here.

This is taken directly from the Official Renegade-X Discord announcements channel. You can just drag and drop the files into the Launcher directory of your RenX installation.Perfect and thanks. That worked. Weird bug! Too bad it can't be fixed.

Same here. I was downloading a new game overnight and then it got stuck. I retried this late morning PST, and still slow (up to 3 MB/sec). Also, my old updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC was very slow with its HDD going nuts.

https://imgur.com/a/Nl0KT for a couple screen (shot/capture)s. It always tell me there is a newer version than v0.00. I tell it to update too! Also, it gets stuck at verified even though the launcher and game works.
Overnight, my long download got stuck so I had to abort and retry, but my old updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 computer got very slow with its HDD in intense mode. Sometimes, my old PC froze.
Thank you in advance.

OK.Trust me, you don't want to play Ren X with 2 gb of RAM. -
So, what are the official requirements for Renegade X. I was misled that it would run on my ancient setup. So, is it really 4 GB of RAM?Yeah we should update the sys requirements. The current system requirements we just copied over from UDK. But the UDK specs are what you need to open up the UDK editor. Playing a full RenX map with all vehicles and the huge amount of sounds and effects etc is a little more demanding then a small UDK project. We already did quite some experiments to get ram usage down by different packaging methods etc but it just was a pain and never really worked it was just a waste of our time.
-
Prove it.Honestly, we really should update the system requirements. Granted I'm pretty sure I could get RenX to work under his hardware. -
Ah, so I really need 4 GB of RAM then which is a problem for me. OK, I'm going to give up by uninstalling and retrying when I get a hardware upgrade. Someone should upgrade the system requirements. Thanks all.As UDK could run in XP, shouldn't be a problem really. It looks like you have some faulty installationTry using other mirror
RenX is using more ram then just UDK. It's not like all UDK games would need the same amount of ram. It is almost certainly crashing for him because of ram.

I already tried two different download servers. If I had a bad download, wouldn't the installer fail?As UDK could run in XP, shouldn't be a problem really. It looks like you have some faulty installationTry using other mirror
Does your Renegade-X's settings get resetted after upgrading?
