  1. There are currently 12 separate forums that a developer has to sort through in order to view all the new bug/feedback reports. I think it would be a lot more efficient and productive to use [Tags] instead of separating by forum. When a bug report is resolved, it should be closed.

This makes it easy for a developer to browse the Bug Reports section and see what has been reported, what needs to be fixed, and what has been fixed already just by scrolling down the page.

Feedback should have it's own section, using the same [Tag] system.

  2. A purchaseable tagging grenade that takes up the same slot as beacon/airstrike would be pretty awesome. Would work a lot like how the Commander Mod binoculars currently work, except in the form of a grenade.

It would be great for tagging targets in tunnels or groups of vehicles, the visual team targeting really makes a difference in teamplay and it helps a ton when coordinating what target to focus-fire on.

  3. I'm pretty sure there are enough players for more than one full server, but nobody wants to join an empty server. I can't really think of a way to fix that with a queue system that wouldn't require a lot of work, but maybe something else like displaying the current number of players viewing the server list/launcher would be handy?

Something like "Players online: xxxx" or a chatbox in the launcher could go a long way to getting more servers filled up I think.

  4. The devs, in cooperation with server owners, have come a long way at figuring out ways to filter the traffic and getting servers back to being playable and enjoyable.

Credit should be given where credit is due. Please reveal which developers you are talking about so that I may thank them personally.

Nobody really has any interest in the attacks or their motive, so talking about it just perpetuates it you know?

You just posted a big announcement thread on the Renegade-X homepage?

  5. When I play pugs in Team Fortress 2, a rule says that the captains must pick the teams as evenly as possible and they are always chosen based upon how well they know everybody's skill level, regardless how good or bad that captain may be at the game itself. We're not playing to win, we're playing so that everybody has a fun, competitive experience without getting completely stomped. Fun experiences bring back players for future pugs.

When we pick teams, everybody goes to spectator mode while the captains duel in some form to get the first pick or second pick. While picking teams, captains must tell everybody their decisions one by one as people from spectator join that captain's team. They choose in a 1-2-2-2-2... fashion until everybody is picked.

After the teams are set, we don't straight up jump in to the game, we talk and decide who plays what role during the games, and also decide what strategies we're going to use. When we're done, we "ready-up" and wait for the other team. We do this before every map change.

Another thing I think might be worth trying out is to flip a coin for GDI or Nod after a map is picked. Swapping factions after every map can lead to biased map votes.

    I wholeheartedly agree with CampinJeff.

  6. On topic again, I don't see anything in the original post about other people shutting down their servers, where'd that idea come from?

I like the idea of official servers being highlighted and at the top, the DDOS'ing is really killing the game and it wasn't doing to well already. Don't see any reason for other people to shut down their servers though.

  7. Idk, as an admin on two of the main communities I'm 100% sure it's not a server owner trying to grab players. We all acknowledge that we have our separate playerbases and that we're drawing from a minimal playerbase to begin with.

I personally don't give a damn who has the most players, I just want to have fun.

  8. What would be nice if there was a setting/command to enable it so that weapon drops became enabled once the Weapons Factory or Air Strip is destroyed.

Probably possible, but since they'd be able to be picked up by both teams I'm not sure how this would work. (Would only one team be able to drop weapons on death, and would only one team be able to pick them up?)

Not sure about weapon drops, but I'm sure we'll see if they're fun or not during B4 testing.
