Even if they improve from beta I doubt there will be a playerbase change. The only thing I can think of would be release on steam. It quadrupled (or maybe more) hawken's playerbase, and it's remaining steady.

Also, is there a player count that someone could link me to? ("Private beta forums gives us a mini server list with overall playercount on it") Or something similar to this?

In the whole world? That's pretty low. Most games have at least one thousand playing at a time.

I understand this isn't a commercial game or anything though.
