  1. very odd

    this is what i run

    moo: os: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate - Service Pack 1

    cpu: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor (x64) at 4000MHz - 4200MHz

    gfx: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 768MB

    res: 1440x900

    ram: 3421/16284.3MB (21.01%) [||--------] (16 GB @1866)

    i can run the game on ultra @ 50 - 60 fps noprobs (wile recording i have very hight settings and turn the res down to 720p)

    so its either you drivers / directx out of date, you have alot of crap running in the background or you have somthing very wrong with one of your parts

    but its most proboly your pc dont like to run the game @ 1080p so lower your res and or settings

    he only has 256MB of dedicated vram at 1600x900 the game will use 300 to 400MB at 1080 that goes up to 500 to 700mb the geforcem can allocate some system memory for vram use but thats really slow it accounts for the performance dip if he wants 1080p hes gonna need to lower his texture,mesh settings to low and turn off dynamic lights

  2. Well duh... I built this rig with my own two hands... in March 2010. I've been working with computers for 20 years and gaming for 30 years. Please don't talk nonsense. You can see that people are having problems if you take 5 seconds to skim over the tech support forum and the bug forum. HardOCP.com is a website for overclockers ( ie. people much smarter than yourself ).

    This game made my rig unstable. This game should be closed beta, period. Please don't reply to this thread. I only want to speak with intelligent people. Thanks.

    start with the following just to humor you

    1. run memtest for at least 6-8h or 12 passes whatever comes first

    2. run furmark and stress test your GPU by the sound of it sounds like your GPU is giving out or getting to hot

    finally go tell your story about how a video game broke your computer

    over at hardocp or techpowerup and watch them laugh at you

    the fact that you said "re-install directX" tells me exactly how much you don't know about computers

  3. nukes need to cost more

    make em 2500 credits

    also add a proximity beacon to the engineer/hot-wire to allow detecting of stealth'd objects with in a certain radius the diaspora should be no larger then a MLS but you can carry up to 3

    people really need to start thinking outside the box here they want it to be a clone of renegade and that game sucked there is huge potential in this project but people need to start thinking outside the box when it comes to gameplay

  4. vehicles seem to have very little mass resulting in a wide variety of odd conditions

    1. they `feel` like they are on-ice or floating driving and turning is very Unnatural and frankly "odd" feeling it feels like vehicles are just simply a model with no real traction or weight to them at all

    2. its possible to flip the MLS by ramming it

    3. getting hung on objects such as baracides allows you to no clip though walls

  5. Which are the lines that disable ssao and set fxaa to 3 ?

    in udksystemsettings.ini

    DepthOfField=False

    AmbientOcclusion=False

    and in udkmenu.ini

    under

    [RenX_Game.Rx_GFxFrontEnd_Settings]

    ListAA=No AA //0

    ListAA=MSAA 2x //1

    ListAA=MSAA 4x //2

    ListAA=MSAA 8x //3

    ListAA=MSAA 16x //4

    ListAA=Nvidia FXAA 1 //5

    ListAA=Nvidia FXAA 2 //6

    ListAA=Nvidia FXAA 3 //7

    ListAA=Nvidia FXAA 4 //8

    ListAA=Nvidia FXAA 5 //9

    ListAA=AMD MLAA 1 // 10

    CurrentAATypeSelection=7

    so //7 = FXAA 3 (yes this works on amd cards)

  6. after a bit of tweaking I got it to behave a lot better

    http://cl.ly/UAKF/Config.zip everything ultra -nodof -nomotionblur -nossao -fxaa 3

    *extract to C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config

    or where ever you have it installed

    70-90fps 1600x900 6870

    *for x64 systems only

    note after installing this config changing options from the game menu will override my change

    open UDKSystemSettings.ini and set any changes their (resolution vsync ect ect)

  7. Thats bullocks, I can also play the UDK singleplayer demo on max with little to no issues at all. The guy before me has an even lower quality PC than mine and yet he managed to fix his problem, why not mine eh? The only thing he has over me is a newer Operating system, and the XP OS meets the min requirement.

    If you just gonna rant on me getting a new PC and not actually solve the problem, then plz go. I have no time for this.

    you have a fucking first gen althlon x2 thats barely clocking 3Ghz and shitty low end gpu running a 12 year old OS I don't much care "how other udk games run" they are not RenX granted it runs like a 3 legged dog but that has no bearing in this case

    single player demo != actual game with real video and sound assets I guarantee you can't run unreal 3 or Gears or war or any recent Unreal 3 engine title at anything close to high settings UT3 demands a quad core or better or you get about 25FPS

    Mod edit : This forum is to help people get the game running, not to criticize them or their machines. Please refrain from posting in this forum if you're not going to be constructive.

  8. don't be messing around with the boot.ini good way to render your pc unbootable if you don't understand what you are doing

    also the /userva switch does NOTHING on xp because it doesn't exist for XP because XP doesn't support PAE

    bottom line your computer is to old to run the game

    Cept I do understand what I am doing, and I have no reason to switch PC's if this one can play all the other UDK games I messed with on Max or near Max. That tells me something that my PC isn't entirely at fault.

    see edited post: also other UDK games don't use ~2GB of ram sitting at the menu RenX uses 1500MB on startup you don't have enough ram old computer is old ect ect ect ect

  9. don't be messing around with the boot.ini good way to render your pc unbootable if you don't understand what you are doing

    also the /userva switch does NOTHING on xp because it doesn't exist for XP because XP doesn't support PAE in that fashion

    you need to upgrade to windows 7 Xp can only address X amount of Vram and between that and not having PAE support you are hitting the wall also your cpu and most likely your motherboard are positively ancient so it probably won't be playable anyway
