a 12 MB connection does not correlate to a 12mbps download speed. I have a 50MB connection, which translates to roughly 6-8Mbps. The difference is the connection is measured in megabits, where as download rates are measured in megabytes.

Again, if things go south, use a mac-to-win emulator of some kind. At least until they make it mac functional, because they said it should be possible to run on mac.

Im primarily asking for others, I have a kickass windows pc, but some of my co-workers are die-hard mac OS users and refuse to even emulate windows to do anything (so convincing them to try this game isn't working out atm)

Current version of UDK that we use (July 2013 Build) does have Mac support, so it should work.

Does that mean it is already mac compatible? or that it is going to be?

I haven't been checking in to the extent you have, but I have kept an eye on it since its announcement as a mod for UT. I was hopeful, but never expected it to become what it has (an awesome, standalone beast piece of software).

Ive got all my friends I work with ready to play. I work tech support, so my coworkers are all nerds and are into this sort of thing. Hopefully, I can keep them playing.

I am in the same boat as you. I work as IT/Maintenance for a charter school (several campuses), and all of my co-workers (save for my boss, who refuses to try it bc he is too much of a starcraft die-hard) are waiting eagerly for the release.

My favorite moment was on Jelly marathon, start of the game. I was playing as GDI and one of my friends managed to capture a buggy. We loaded up the buggy with remotes (we had the edge of it on a ramp so we could place the c4 underneath) and left it outside NOD's base. When one of them took the buggy, we waited a few second to let the poor victim get deeper into their base with it and detonated our c4. The resulting boink (and the rage that followed) was glorious.

My second most favorite moment almost always happened on under when an engi/hotty found an sbh standing still (either afk or with its back to them), placed a timer on their back and just walked away like nothing happened.

Wow, its surprising how many of these names I recognize . So many old school players, I love it. I played on and off since the release of Renegade (doubt many people remember me, I didn't make much of a scene for myself other than being a team player ). I spent most of my time on -UN- new maps/Jelly Marathon. I was part of the clans DW/DSG until we kinda drifted from Renegade, but now that X is close to open beta (and accepting more applicants ) myself, and my old clan mates are quickly coming back for more .
