    They are an important part of the game, but their damage should be toned down a bit. A single infantry should be able to run through 4-5 before dying, like in Ren. Right now, it seems 1-2 do it.

    I disagree. Mines are a joke right now. I can easily get through four of them. Here's a video on it.

    After seeing that, I retract my statement - but I wouldn't say they're a joke. Maybe it is where it should be. Now that I know structure walls nerf the damage, I have some testing to do.

    Perhaps adding a repair gun sidearm for other inf to purchase would help with inf balance.

  3. I loved the tank battles in the cave in regular Ren - was very competitive and technical. Sad to see that go, as it was one of my favourite clanwar maps. I understand the Ren-X map needed changes though so I'll reserve judgement until I play it. I hope you improve on Westwood's original vision.

  4. In competitive Renegade clanwars, and the big servers that matter (like Jelly) it was never illegal. It only makes sense and gives a perfect balance.

    Keep in mind, I prefer smaller team games where being able to do a 2 person rush makes a big difference. In a 40 player public server, not so much.

    Devs have been talking about changing Field and maybe even removing the barriers at the tunnel, so we may be wasting our time debating this.

  5. using 2 infantry to rush the ob was always called ob walking in clanwars ("watch for ob walk"). Not saying people didn't call the ob walk glitch the same thing, but that was irrelevant in clanwars since it was illegal and nobody would risk doing it since it was too obvious.

    My point was, if 2 gdi can rush a nod building on field, then 2 nod should be able to rush a gdi building on field. Its how it was in Ren, and should be the same in Ren-X.

  6. Ob walking means running 2 technicians at the obelisk from the tunnel on field. 1 will die, the other will make it in. For balance, GDI could 2 man ref hop on regular ren, but Ren-X doesn't have that. It was a fun part of Ren that should be brought back. (btw, ref hop = 1 player could jump on the back of another, allowing 1 to jump a ledge and gain access to the back of the refinery on field)

    Nod should be able to harv walk to the agt but that doesn't seem possible either.

  7. Proximity mines are OP... wish they were more like Ren where 1 infantry ccould jump and blow 3-4 off.

    Field: AGT is too sensitive up close... you can't harv walk, even with an sbh. Inf should be able to wall hop as nod, since gdi can ob walk.

    Allow server owners to set rotations instead of the vote map option.

  8. Beta 3 is really good. So good, http://Rencorner.com has volunteered to host an open 'Lobby War' this Wednesday @ 7 PM EST.

    WHAT THIS MEANS:

    On Wednesday @ 7 PM EST, everyone is welcome to join us in Teamspeak3, where 2 captains will choose teams and their armies will be placed into their own private teamspeak3 channel to compete in some Renegade-X team action.

  9. Played 6 maps in a full server tonight, and instead of crashing at the end of a map, we get endgame cinematics!

    Nobody was crashing = beta 3 is a success. :D

    Volcano looks good (people are calling it the new walls), and the tweaks and fixes make the game feel the best it has yet.

    Good Job Ren-X team!

    Now let's start scheduling lobby wars. Tomorrow night what time :)
