  1. I love this update. So I've only been gone like a year, whatever. Checked back in cause my computer is slightly operational now, and I find a fustercluck of awesome information and updates. YES.

    Redownloading UT3......................

    Single player sounds awesome... could we put in some kinda co-op though? It's probably not realistic to you guys, but taking over Gunner or maybe introducing that Logan for some Co-op missions would be SICK. I don't know if you've gotten that request before, but it's just some food for thought.

  2. Visceroids were in Renegade definitely. And they had a bunch of those tiberium life forms in multiplayer too, the server just had to enable the Extras. A pack of characters and vehicles that were in the base game. Not high priority but itd be pretty cool if they had the same thing. You opened up the console and type in Extras and it brought out the extra characters and vehicles in the PT.

    Just correcting the first post's statement.

    Steam version of a game isn't any different from the game which you'll get on a DVD or CD. Only differences between steam version and DVD versions usually are that steam adds their additional achievements to the game plus the ability to have the steam overlay open and chat with your friends who are on your steam friends list.

    Otherwise the games usually are always exactly alike whether you bought them from steam or on a DVD.[/b]


    Well I was just making sure because of the install folder and everything else cause it's UT3 "Black" and I wasn't sure it differed any from the original UT3. Thanks for answering. :D
  4. Yeah i'll be running this on a pretty low setting until I get an amazing computer. which will be awhile. but thats fine with me i just need to be able to run it thats what i loved about Renegade as well the graphics didn't need to be great it was just that fun :D

  5. Not saying I will pirate it, i'm gonna buy it, i'm just wondering, theoretically, could one just pirate the game, install it, and run Renegade X through it since it's a mod and not moderated by Epic Games (or whoever does that)?

  6. After reading all the release information, i understand why Under won't be released yet as well as Hourglass and other maps we've seen that were "finished". They all have Power Plants. And since this beta won't contain PP's yet, there's no way you could host an Under or Hourglass game without having such structures cause they are many times vital to winning the game. Very excited for this release guys :) Great birthday present too, this is within two weeks of my birthday haha :lol:

    Server side option? I think this is a large advantage for GDI and since it really wasnt used in Renegade or at least noticably then it should be the servers choice.

    *Increase contrast ratio between different HUD elements (and between the HUD and the actual terrain, possibly via a darker background or shadow under the HUD) so it doesn't blend together.
    *Make use of basic Color Theory: analogous, complementary, split-complementary, triadic color schemes; luminance/value scale (a measurement of how much light is being reflected from a hue; tint/shade); tone scale (A tone is a hue that has had grey added to it. A tone can also be a hue with a large percentage of its complementary color added. ).[/b]

    I really do agree, the monotone and especially the lone RED when your entire base and character and vehicle layout is RED is atrocious.
