I have to agree with the consensus that the chem sprayer does look a little toyish. I think it may be mostly down to the brightness of the colours. Here is a side by side comparison of the new with the old:

This is an example of a gun which I believe looks possibly more plausible, however also looks a lot less robust and less gun-like than the version present in the original renegade. More like something designed to exterminate the weeds on your driveway instead of you.

Regarding the map, I think it looks great with a darker atmosphere. and since I loved the artwork of the "Tiberian sun" age I think it looks great.
