  2. In old versions OF Renegade X... Waaaaaay before the Beta.... THe testers could actually use the REn X characters in UT3, but they are a little cheap because UT3 characters glow so they are easy to see while the Ren x ones did not have the glow, so when testers played against each other and somebody was using a ren x skin, It was a bit annoying trying to spot the person. >.

  3. Well UT3 generally does not have as many vehicles on the same screen all at once like RenX does... UT3 doesnt have those 10 - 20 vehicle rushes all at once or 10-20 vehicles fighting all in one area.

    And no those engines don't have better bots ... they don't have them at all :P

    UE3 is nice for GFX but until every one gets bot mesh nav they will always suck (just but a piece of paper with collision on their path nodes and the AI breaks :D )

    The day AI will be good will be the day you don't have to tell them where to go by placing a gazillion markers on the map :|'

    And sorry if you were offended by my opinions... you in charge of AI programming? :P[/b]


    From what I know... He created the camera system Renegade x used in some of the videos... and created the AI for the Obelisk and AGT....

    The great thing about UT as the basis is that in UT you can actually give orders to bots. In UT2k4 you could give your teammates commands like: Attack, Cover me, Dance,.... (I actually have never tried it in UT3, but it should be in there)


    Anyway, 12 days to go.... the suspense is killing me![/b]

    This gave me another idea. I think its in Halo3 (not sure?)
    Make that everyone can customise some stuff on his own units. A few places that they are allowed to put a tatoo, a sticker on their helmet or a text. Something that people know, when they see my "zero tolerance" painted in red on my helmet, that they are in trouble, because you can only see that when you are up close to my shotgun trooper.
    Somethings could include:
    -helmet on/off
    -A band with a text/picture on their arm
    -text on the suit on fixed places
    -camouflage on the face or not
    -you get the idea
    Is this something to be discussed here, or in another post, or is the idea shot down before it even get's a chance?

    They have it in the RTS C&C games and a lot of other games out for PC, including FPS games, such as Crysis.

    Quickplay and automatch are just other words for Matchmaking.[/b]


    UT3 is mainly run off of peoples own servers which, from my knowledge, are not connected to master server like those.... which means, None of the servers are connected to each other, they are their own separate ententes...

  11. This isn't a console game... This is a pc game.... which means all servers are just about differently. Now this means that there isn't a master server which will throw people into a game where they can play... you join through the server browser :P

    If they were to put that much detail in it, then the system requirements would go up :P

    More poly's = more detail but also more poly's = better computer
