  2. hey ho guys, its been a while since i have skinned coz i been studying, i even banned myself from everything jelly so i couldnt be distracted as that was what made me lose so much time.

    but with uni now over till september, and summer relaxation kicking in, i thought id get back to finishing my skin pack, for at least the vehicles :D

    anyway, here she is...

    weighing in at a hefty 11+ hours, it was not a 10 minute job and easily the hardest vehicle to skin thus far, also i had to relearn how to use photoshop after my long absence :)

  3. everyone else I have spoken to has said that it is harder to see sbh with my skin, not easier.

    you are the first to say the opposite :huh:

    i dont see how it can be more visible,

    1. the square texture takes up less of the image than the original electrowaves did,

    2. the brightest part of the new texture isnt as bright as the original

    3. there are more parts that are completely transparent on the new texture, even parts on the origianl that werent bright were at least faint blue in colour

    not to mention i was stood right next to the enemy sbh to take the picture.

    my skin is alot easier to miss than the original one was. :)

  4. im a 3D dude, sort of. i made these in my spare time after i was SO inspired by RenegadeX i wanted to see somthing like it in the Generals Universe.

    needless to say, I stopped after I did these two. because, rigging, UV mapping - i can not do, so faith was lost.

    none the less I am pleased with what I created

    Strong vs: Vehicles, Rocket Armed Infantry

    Weak vs: Aircraft, Artillery

    well, when / if it is done you could set that as a server option, for yes and no to please everyone.

    when it is active you could have it a Purchase Terminal option called "Extra Loadout" instead of just lumping each character defaultly.

    it could work two ways

    1. it could be just like the "Refill" button only it costs say 100 or 50 for the extra Knife/Grenades/C4/Ammo/ etc and you cant pick or choose what you want, you just get the default upgrade for the current character

    or

    2. it could be like the Char/Veh purchase screen, where you can see all the possible extras some of which should be greyed out for certain characters, like greying out extra ammo for snipers and Pics/Ravs to stop them from becoming too powerfull, instead only allowing characters with guns that run out quickly to get more for there gun, i.e. Laser/normal Chaingun characters, also Tiberium sydney and Chemwarriors tend to run out VERY quickly.

    I think only Hotwire Technicians should be able to get more C4 for example.

    If denying certain characters access to extra ammo for there main weapon is thought to be a bad idea, then allow all characters to do this but limmit per character the amount they gain when they purchase more, and should they be able to do it more that once? if they are paying more for it each time then it shouldnt be a problem.

    will a "Refill" also refill the extra ammo they bought too, or would they have to buy it again?

    having an area in the PT like this would give you room to breathe when you want to impliment new additions into your game

  10. omg wow talk about persistance.....

    I personally think it would kill renegade if structures could be purchased, save for the minor base defences, but even then it slightly loses its flavour.

    Simply work together and Building a new building shouldnt even come into the equasion

    yes it might be convieniant, but its just daft, Its not a RTS (for the most part) its a Arcade FPS. no base build allowed, being restricted to certain buildings in some maps make the games more interesting.

    and as said above, you need a Construction yard, or a Mobile Construction Vehicle to be able to even consider it. which means everyone (as said above) would just whore the Const. yard until it died meaning that the team that lost it first has basically lost the match already.

    also, when the structure is destroyed unless the team gets some major animations goin, the complete destruction of a structure would look like the worst thing ever, because other wise you arent going to have anywhere to build, yes you could make the base area bigger but im not in favour of lag to be honest, making maps needlessly big/complex like Glacier for rene just results in warps and teleports, not to mention they would have to code all the spawn points for that structure to move when the building does, to stop the havoc/sakura/sniper whores from spawn killing you, its bad enough trying to get from the Hand of nod to the Power Plant on Volcano without being sniped.

    all you need instead of building new structures is to

    "Defend the base!"

    "Defend the base!"

    "Defend the base!"

    "Defend the base!"

    in short... I'd be against it.

    nah... maybe he meant like the standard inf get like 2 normal Pin grenades, as well as a pistol and their main gun.

    the Grenadier obviously wouldnt need this....

    BUT! lets remember that there are many kinds of grenade.

    it might be cool if SBH's got one flash grenade to help them escape a hairy situation.

    or Flamers got Incendiary grenades for more "fire" power.

    Could even invent a grenade or two. Like a Tiberium frag grenade, that expodes and launches shards of tiberium in a radius, doing damage over time, as tiberium does.

    or a Tiberium smoke grenade for Chemwarriors and Tiberium Sydney that releases tiberium gas in a wide area for a limmited area, and this is great for Chemwarrior tactics as they can go right in and finish the job, thowing it behind enemies so they cant escape or infront so they cant advance without damage, they would be devestaing tunnel Defence/offence weapons.

    Primary fire for "on contact detonation"

    Secondary fire for "timed detonation"

    they would be a very nice addition because the possibilies are so high.

    but, they are going for as close to vanilla Rene as they can... but who knows! I think that i came up with a cool idea just now ^_^

    maybe if taken further it can be another server option ^_^

  12. that would be cool.... haha.... suddenly the missile changes its course, orrr.. explodes in the air above the target at what ever point it is disarmed at... possibly damaging the structure anyway...

    and the ion, it should do damage when it charges because all that energy, focused or not is gonna hurt somthing, however that will make it impossible to disarm past a certain point :S so i think forget that.
