  1. Actually, I think your current system should be more than capable to handle Renegade X in Ultra-High Settings. Though I admit, I could be wrong here, as I haven't got any first-hand experience with new hardware.

The thing is, even my System, which is about 5 years old and worse than yours, can handle Renegade X High Graphics Settings. So maybe it's a problem with the drivers/windows setup? If that's the case, I'm sure there are some software/hardware pros around who know how to help.

For new good hardware, i always check this thread in the german computerbase forums.

    http://www.computerbase.de/forum/showth ... p?t=215394

It's always up to date as far as I know. Even if you don't speak german, you will probably still understand the hardware lists ;)

    So... good luck :)

  2. I agree with you that the maps in Renegade X are smaller than compared to other multiplayer games out there. But this is so, for a very good reason. The original Renegade and Renegade X are more of an Arcade-Style Game with Quick Action after Respawning. But I'm sure, once some kind of development-kit is released, there will be a lot more varied fanmaps and also bigger maps for your liking.

I also agree that utilising a strategy in big servers is not that easy, especially when very little teamwork is happening - but please be aware that a lot of new players - probably including yourself - are still learning the mechanics of the game.

Trust me please - there are a lot of ways to play this game!!! Just look at some Youtube videos of the original C&C Renegade. (search for: flame rush, med rush, gunner rush, stank rush, tech/hottie rush, Stealth black and and nukes and so on). Nothing is more rewarding in this game than accomplishing something in a team or by sneaking in all by yourself and nuking a building! No other game has kept me enthralled for over 10 years.

  3. I have had the same issue in the last betas before open release. Now it works for me though. The only things I have changed in my setup, is the primary harddrive space. My Hdd was pretty much filled up when I was testing the release candidates. Maybe that has something to do with it? The freeze-ups, Illusion-of-progress is talking about happend to me too in the open beta, though I experienced them only in laggy Servers as far as I remember

  4. Awesome! Great to hear some news from you guys. I have to say that Deadeye looks really badass and though i'm not a good apache pilot, i would really reconsider using it more often from now on, as it really looks like a beast. I'm really forward to playing the first multiplayer release. I'm really excited about that.

Btw, is it just me, or are these screenshots in full view a bit blurry and low in contrast? I hope thats not an effect you are going to use in the actual game, as I'm not a big fan of that. Also where did all the colors go? Looks a bit like vanilla skyrim to me (Yeah, i exaggerated there ;-)). But that's just personal taste and i'm happy to overlook that, as i'm sure the multiplayer experience will be worth it! Again please take this as constructive criticism and not as an insult! So again good job on everything! I hope a great new Renegade community will grow out of this!

  5. i just watched the teaser vid 4 times in a row. i'm really impressed by the latest updates. Nice work on the new maps. I'm really looking forward to playing these. And i just wanted to tell you, that i'm with you on the new policies. They just make a lot of sense. Keep up the good work!

  6. Woah guys this all looks amazing. I'm really excited even though there is so little information. And the Logo looks really kickass. I'm a bit of a Photoshoper myself and know how much work something like this is. I'm not commenting on the riddle as i don't have any idea. I just wait and wish :)

    Hooray for Ren-X !!!

  7. QUOTE (a000clown @ Mar 14 2010, 11:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I've got a bunch of people interested in it but it would appear few, if any of them actually play UT3 and aren't willing to buy it for "just a mod" they may or may not enjoy. I expect the standalone to change this and be a very important milestone.[/b]

The same here. I showed the mod to some friends and they seemed interested, but the did not like the idea of getting/installing UT3!
