  1. I feel as if I have lost my drive to play Renegade because of these changes. It really takes away from the strategy completely. Please make it a server option to play with these new changes, or original Renegade. That is the best option for this. I feel as though many people feel the same about this. Ofcourse there are those who may like the changes and that is okay! But it should be an option. Please Devs! Consider! This way, both sides will be happy.

Yes... i also feel the same. While some changes i like, most gameplay changes kinda take the fun out of it.

  2. Where did those rocks come from ?

Didn't play the original version but I'm looking forward to seeing this progress, and all the community maps for that matter.

Found them in the content browser... but i've replaced them with other ones since this one didn't have any LODs

Those.. "cliffs," look like you just cloned the same rock X amount of times. You are actually supposed to be able to get on top of the cliffs, I don't see how that is possible here.

i still need to figure out how to create ramps. :P

  3. Some of you might recognize this map from CnC Reborn. I'm working on a remake for RenX.

It's a fairly compact map with 2 entrances on the front and 3 on the back. Both bases will be connected by 2 tunnels. Flying vehicles are enabled.

  4. The main problem with moving to UE3 at the moment is the fact that our programmers all use C++ and don't want to learn a scripting language that is soon going to be obsolete (uScript).

We might consider it when Renegade X releases an editor pack though. We'll see.

Then find some programmers who are interested. There are plenty of them out there as renX has shown.

AR will be DOA if it gets released with the w3d engine.

  5. I think this more comes down to opinion. When I saw the new Raveshaw model my first thought was "Himmler-inspired?".

Hmm, I wouldn't say that was 100% true. The new Raveshaw's face does look a lot more youthful that it really should be. If there more more facial lines/wrinkles, more scars and the shape of the face was reworked a bit, it'd look fine imo. It just doesn't look as if care and attention has been paid when trying to replicate Raveshaw's face.

There's still the problem of that Tiberium Wars Nod logo too.

Also I've just noticed, his ears are comically large.

I think it's a pointless to make him look exactly the same as in Renegade. You certainly won't notice, or even care, while playing the game. The current rendition of ravershaw will do the job just fine.

Besides, he looks better than the original.

  6. For one thing, Renegade X is an online only game. Making a campaign is a whole different story, and would take quite literarly years of hard work.

Secondly. Renegade was never proper canon. Neither is Red Alert 2. Red Alert 2 was never a part of the same universe as Tiberian Dawn. Its merely a spinoff of Red Alert 1, which was EA who pushed it. Westwood themselves never planned to make it originally.

Now as a game (Red Alert 2) in itself it is indeed a true and very fun C&C, but it's again not part of the same universe.

The C&C Wikia doesnt make any mention of this at all.

    Renegade not canon? How so?

  7. The 1/10 is entirely related to either poor planning or poor decision making leading up to the release - take your pick. I am not the only one who is not thrilled with long download times. I imagine it's a major turnoff for a lot of people who would otherwise be thrilled to have a chance to play something new!

So, you just stare at your screen while the game is downloading? Don't you have anything else to do in the meantime?

  8. heh

Pr0eX, i think you didn't play any other singleplayer shooter

because if you did, you probably wouldn't think that this game is amazing =)

i believe that MULTIPLAYER of this game can be good but now i just see that AI is amazing stupid

and btw, why enemy vehicles can't kill me? they're shooting but it has no impact on me...

    Some perspective wouldn't hurt.

Keep in mind that this team isn't backed by some million dollar studio with 200 employees working on it full-time.

It's all done by people doing it for free, aspiring game makers, hobbyists and so on.

So yeah, it's going to have flaws. But in my opinion, most of them were minor. I actually enjoyed the game alot.

My only major gripe were the cutscenes. It sounded like a bunch of one-liners stiched together to form a sentence, which was really awkward lol. The animations of the characters could use some improvement too.
