I'd have to say the 4 day marathon map of Under, where each day when you woke up and got on you were like wtf is happening why do i have 400,000 points still, then you do !maptime and realize that the game has been going on for 3 days. Too bad those never happen anymore.

Installed. No servers in the list.

QUOTE (punko24 @ Sep 30 2009, 08:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ok i found the idden like to ren-x then downloaded b4 "official" realese and wow im impressed to the progress
its called Beta Alpha (1) Version 0.35 (35% Complete!)
There is of course more things to add like chars,weps,pp,silo,maps,ect...
and those i understand will be in patches (dont need to reinstall it) prob.
and some bugs but not bad like the SBH needs fixing but the stank is ok plus i need more ram
Team communication is at what i rate so far: 3/10 (the Under Attack,Destroyed, almost destroyed) but i understand the radio commads are comming later (hope thewre the same) and "Keep On Commin" when u buy crap and "Unit Ready".
I wish to know if there will be and IRC typed moderating or something like that...is the server going to be able to have a bot setup on IRC? lol i wanna be a moderator or is that what a mutator is?
Thankyou, LaserOfFury (punko24,grannyzx)[/b]

QUOTE (Toad @ Sep 30 2009, 04:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Great job!!!! Time to get serious now! I'll see you ingame
Zeg, make sure you put a space before -mod= and make sure its outside the quotation marks[/b]
Thank you, that helps, but still I hit the connect button and nothing happens? -
Hi i bought UT3 via Steam and have downloaded, and now when i try to put
-mod=..\Renegade -solomod
at the end of the "target" in the shortcut, it says that it is not a valid place within the computer, not really sure what to do.

If you've waited 2 years for this, you can wait another hour for the official links to come out. Calm down. Go take a shower or something I know half of you need it. -

Nope just you my friend lol. -
Updated, Good luck.

It will probably end up being a while before i get it, because at this point i'm considering one of the two games, RenX and MW2... If RenX doesn't need any more servers than there is no point in getting one.

QUOTE (AlienX2 @ Sep 30 2009, 09:33 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi there
If the server hosting company is a decent one and uses a Game Control Panel such as TCAdmin then you should be totally fine to get renx onto your server.
If the installer of renx allows it (which is unknown at this time) to extract the renx components to a seperate directory on your PC, you can FTP the contents of that directory to your game server (while its STOPPED).
Once thats done, you will need to edit the startup command (Command line params, this should be able to be done by either yourself via your game CP, or chat with the server provider) to something like this:Renegade-Field?Game=RenXGame.Renegade?AdminName=YourNameHere?AdminPassword=RemoteAdminPasswordHere -mod=..\Renegade\ -log=Renegade.log -mutlihome=YourServersIPAddressHere -port=ThePortHere(7777 is default) --unattended
Example:Renegade-Field?Game=RenXGame.Renegade?AdminName=AlienX?AdminPassword=letmein -mod=..\Renegade\ -log=Renegade.log -mutlihome=78.129.164.83 -port=7777 --unattended
[/b]
As I have no prior game hosting experience, I may contact you later when the full release is out to help me get this set up if that is alright with you? I'm pretty sure the company will not be too interested in caring on teaching me how to do things, let alone how to work the mod. -
QUOTE (a1h @ Sep 30 2009, 09:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>but when the mod is released publicly ill be working on a linux hosting tutorial.
As this is the first release i doubt there will be many server options at this stage.[/b]
Just that is what this meant to me, after the full release, of course. -
QUOTE (=HT=Duro @ Sep 30 2009, 08:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>well normally you install mod, not the company. they provide the main game and the server, and you go on the box via FTP client[/b]
Okay, and that tutorial would show me how to set up the mod to the server, with the FTP client?
If so that would be great. -
QUOTE (a1h @ Sep 30 2009, 08:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>At this current stage after talking to the devs in the vip forum, the machine hosting the dedicated server is perfered to be a windows machine as that's what the front end is currently built for, but when the mod is released publicly ill be working on a linux hosting tutorial.
As this is the first release i doubt there will be many server options at this stage.[/b]
I do not want to get a dedicated server box, just a game server, that is hosted from their company in Chicago. I'm not sure if that would end up helping them install that mod to the server, but I sure hope so. It'd be great to have a Ren-X server.
I am not worrying about getting a server in the near future, not until the full release.
But thank you for making a tutorial about it, as it might help the company to install the mod onto the UT3 game server that i would like to host. -
I recently asked a hosting company for an Unreal Tournament 3 server if they would support this mod within a game server they would host for me. They asked "Most mods are supported, are there specific requirements of this mod?"
And I also am not sure if you guys will provide a bot with the server side option, or would that have to be something that like the Brenbot would have to be adjusted to? And would it be able to be adjusted so you could see it within some mIRC room?

I play under the name Zeg
Played under this name since 2004
Played with Atokad001 from 2001 to 2004
Will play as [TNC]Zeg here on Ren-X!
Hopefully will get a Ren-X server when the beta's are over!

QUOTE (=HT=Duro @ Sep 29 2009, 07:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>if you can connect to any server in UT3 .. check your firewall ... cause if you cant in UT3, im almost sure it will be the same thing in Ren-X[/b]
I got the download done from steam, and I installed 4 things including some DirectX or something, and I'm not sure if i have everything to dl RenX and to be ready to play tomorrow. -
QUOTE (Mighty BOB! @ Sep 29 2009, 05:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You mean like our link to the ModDB page? That's a built-in IPB feature.[/b]
I got it figured out thanks yeah. Thanks for responding though. -
When the worse the graphics are, the more ghetto you think you are.

May i ask how to get that redirect link on the forum, like how you would click on it and it would lead to a different website, other than going to an actual forum?
EDIT: Forget it.. I'll figure it out.

QUOTE (Bret_Hart @ Sep 24 2009, 10:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And it's fast paced too [/b]
I haven't even played this game and it looks better than most of the screen shots i have seen from searching. -
So should I go buy UT3 or will I not be able to participate in the Beta Testing (only given out to certain users?)
