Like somebody that paid attention to the fact that I even said most of these things get intercepted nowadays anyway, and are genuinely a waste of cp more often than not. Covering beacons is really all they have going for them, or breaking up unobservant clusters. Maybe in your games they do. In PUGs I am pretty sure they're basically never used because they get show down 9/10 times. I also almost always shoot them done on the rare occasions that I play. Having a red circle around the affected area that lasts for 1 second at the time of casting. The only time i die to cruise missiles is when i think i'm a safe distance away and judged wrong.
