It was just a basic damage test vs a mammoth tank.

At all, imo, It's overpowered damage vs a mammoth tank. There are 4 basedefense structurs.

2 each in the video showen. They take down a mammoth in zero reload time if they target all at one.

The second base defense got the LockOn feature.. So it isn't that hard to hit a mammoth tank. And cmon.. It's a mammoth tank, not a Humvee to target.

All other types of vehicles are nearly 1shot. The Mammoth Tank has 1200 health and is down in 20seconds by 1 structur.

1 shot by the 2nd structur and almost 20% are gone.

It's a remake of a map that had base defense, if a team did a full out med or light tank rush they could probably kill all 4 turrets losing 1 or 2 tanks. That is a lot easier to take out then the tower that was in each base.

But think about it. The Mammoth Tank fights back from that location. It's being repaired by a Hotwire and gaining health back over time. The NOD team needs to be working together to shoot at that Mammoth. So team work is involved. Meanwhile there are other tanks and GDI units attacking those defenses AND your units. The defenses are weak, they can be taken out by a simple Humvee or two. A couple of shots from any of those units at range will take them down.

If the guy in the Mammoth is smart, he'd use the rocks down the centre for cover or keep going back and forth from the line of sight of the defenses to stay unharmed. Its stuff like this that needs to be taken into account for judging whether something is OP or not. In White Out there's 3 lanes to manage in your defense. Any number of units can come from both sides. It's easy to see that it'd be easy for your turrets to be overwhelmed by units if you're on the defensive. But that's how I see it.

The defenses have 800 health, so not that easy to destroy and definitely not by a simple Humvee or two.

Rocket structur does with the Hellfire Rocket ~25% dmg against a Med Tank.

Rocker structur does around the same damage with 12 shots of the Swarm Launcher.

Med Tank does ~8% dmg against a defense structur.

So.. Just 2sec with 2 rocket structurs needed to destroy a med tank.

Around 7sec to destroy 1 med tank with 1 rocket structur.

Ofc without heals. But at all compared to the med tank dmg It's insanely overpowered. 100% Dmg in 1 reload time?

Come one.

The main thing to keep in mind is that they are exposed in the open. They have no MCT to speed repair time and engineers repairing them are dead meat for snipers.

I agree it's a bit OP, but not against mammies. Mammies SHOULD die charging across the open so slowly towards the enemy base while under defensive structure fire. My main concern is that the turrets shred APCs like nothing. An early game APC rush should always be a viable tactic IMO.

All this talk of damage which means absolutely nothing at all.

What are turrets? Stationary, abusable.

The only problem with the turrets is they respawn, and they respawn FAST, making their destruction nearly useless. Yet that problem was not even brought up here, and I have no idea why.

They may be a little overpowered, but I have a different problem with them. I don't like how they explode and then they're just gone for a little while. Rebuilding them should be up to the engineers. They shouldn't just appear randomly after they've been destroyed. If the engineers had to rebuild them each time, it would also add strategy to the game.

They are player controlled base defenses. You can get lucky and manage to get into the enemy base without anyone even manning the turret.

But either way, 1 tank is supposed to be easily destroyed. Mammoth or not. Just because they aren't automated doesn't mean they shouldn't be effective. You still need teamwork to get into the enemy base.

Besides, they go down pretty quickly and you can attack them one at a time without all of them attacking you at once.
