  1. some of the bloom seems wrong, very blocky. also i have a weird glow coming from the bottom and the right. I am on 32bit at max settings. (edit) It's only this map as well, i tested all the default ones...
  2. I didn't have enough data left on my plan for a whole new installation, i barely got by with the update and fiddling. I think it may have been some of the default inis were bad and needed to be reinstalled.

  4. Ok after a tremendous amount of fiddling and deleting files and using verfy game to replace them i got it to work, i dont know what was wrong. All seems to be working though.
  5. I cant seem to play the game after tyhe update, if i try the skip intro option the game just freezes up, otherwise it cant load into the game after the intro. It doesnt matter if im trying to enter a game or the main menu. I've played renx on almost every release since beta 4, and some of the older betas infrequently, and I have noticed that my framerate changes in seemingly each and every new patch, usually unexpectedly. In the start of beta 4 i always had ~~60fps no matter what at full settings excepting whiteout, that's its own ball park and i never fully tested it to be accurate. As beta 4 progressed i stopped worrying about framerate because i figured id always have 60ish fps except in the odd map until it was fully optimised. That all changed in beta 5 where my framerates tanked. For a while I just turned off dynamic lights and shadows and just delt with the 35-55 fps that came, I started to doubt if I ever had 60fps in beta 4, but one of my friends told me he was with me during the first weeks of my, new at the time, gaming laptop and renx was very smooth almost all the time, i think he was very jealous with his intel hd laptop. Of course the whole point of this post is coming I promise. And so salvation came, or at least that's what it felt like, suddenly my frame rates were going up in each patch and pretty soon i could play renx back at full detail and framerates that hover around 55-75 fps, i have a 75hz monitor, and the lowest it would go was 30ish fps in intense veh fights on very detailed maps. So problem solved right? Well I had hoped so, when beta 5.13, might have been 5.14, my framerates took a huge dip again(20-45 fps ,8fps as lowest). So some fiddling around and I noticed that dynamic lights wasn't my huge frame drop anymore, instead it was dynamic shadows? Further testing found that I was no longer cpu bound, I could lower my cpu clock quite a bit without more than a few frames difference, in fact I could now lower it to reduce my gpu underclocking due to heat and push out a few more frames at certain clockrates. I decided I would try something odd that I had not messed with since the first beta 5, I put the game in windowed mode, and then bam 60-128 fps, I also had turned off frame rate smoothing, and this is at full settings except msaa, occlusion, and motion puke, I mean blur... TLDR: The game runs faster in windowed mode by a lot, feels strange that this would be the case. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar strangeness. If so do you recommend I do anything different? Btw for the most part i stick with forcing fullscreen at 1280x720 and the windowed size is the same, in Beta 4 i would always play at my monitors 1440x900.
  7. @Electrifier I do agree beta 5 has dramatically changed my framerates to less than plesant, it doesn't explain your case at all... I run a laptop with an I7 3610QM and a geforce 650m, a major step down from you, but at ultra I rarely would go below 25 fps and my max could be 58 in some situations. There has to be some other cause in your situation. As for the OP, your cpu is the culprit unfortunately, I compared it to mine in the cpu benchmark tool and while it did have better single core performance, I think it is likely not enough to surpass my own. Mine almost doubled it in the overall performance so although this might not be a super accurate test I think that is the answer. TLDR: It's your cpu mate.
  8. whenever this happens to me I realize immediatly that I forgot to run the launcher as admin, that is the only time a udk crash upon joining a game ever happens to me. I didnt have to run as admin (seemingly) until I moved renx to an ssd. It also could be that it had, before now, always been on a drive other than the boot drive. It also seemed to happen more often on certain maps, but for now i just have it set up to run as admin always. It hasnt happened for at least three weeks for me so i have no logs sorry.

Here is my 2 cents, first, night2078 I'm pretty sure pointing fingers at drB0ng or even CT as a whole seems silly it certainly isnt bolstering their community any and I dont think it has been helping any community at all. Back on topic, we need this bad, wee need more unification, hell think of all the cool things that could happen with fewer, stonger, and non affiliated servers. Think about the random clan wars that could go on just between a few members of two different communites meeting in a non afilated server. That said, all servers should be allowed to persist, no exception really. Commnity servers are importaint and provide localised chat and game play with people that could be strongly affiliated with that clan, so that someone could decide if they want to be a part of a clan. We need to bolster our numbers before that can happen tho. Maybe we should just encourage these suposed offical servers for now that way we can fend off this ddoser, people get bored if they can't ruin things for others (or so im told). Maybe current server owners could temporarily remove their secondary server (excluding custom map and test ones) or even just reduce player count by a marginal amount so that there is some small encouragment to do these suposed official (ddos free hopefully) servers at least for a little bit. We truly cannot know what actions we must take to crush this annoying bastard who is ruining it for all of us and clearly he is at the winning point by trying to divide and conquer. So dont let him, show them that this is a proper unified cnc community like we used to have back in the good ol days( tbh idk when those were but work with me). And just because im still frusterated with night after writing this, it's importaint to remember, Connstructivetyrrany server didnt always have this powerful mitigation, its been ddosed before and i can imagine its not 100% immune. Their host is our best bet for getting protection from more damage to this game and to our collective renegade x communites.   10. B0ng i think the better application of this would be to use it on inf only paths where vehs have no presence. I do agree tho, this isnt really a must have thing, probably should be more like a map feature rather than a renx feature...

  14. So I'm hoping that this is fixed by now in the latest eyes, but today everyone on the server crashed from the game all at once. I haven't heard about this in eyes, but just worried that someone found a crash exploit more than anything else. Great map tho, I like the way the new changes are going. I'm looking forward to the next update iteration so that we can play the new changes in a proper 20v20 match ^.^
