    What is the Most Satisfying thing to do in RENX

    Simply as the title says, What is your own personal most satisfying thing to do whilst in-game on RenX? 

     

    Personally for me, if the opposing team has a lot of reps behind it's tank, It's going for long-range tank headshots. Such a soothing feeling when you ping one square in the napper from a stupidly long distance.

    We've also tried to think outside the box and try different player counts and try different methods but however this has become essentially exhaustive. The other issue you truly have within RenX, is the player base is a herd-like mentality. They will follow the herd regardless, It's almost a catch-22

    Whilst in general i am not of a fan of Renegade-X for the time being, by all means i am sure EKT/FPI will almost likely be willing to give some of the above another try (would be handy having CT somewhat onboard ie trial player counts) even if it's just for few days or something, that way we can at least say we tried again and that's the least we can do.

    Just finished work, so late reply.

     

    Any donations is always appreciated but it fully optional and users are under no obligation to donate towards funding of our servers. 

    the issue isn't with donations/funds. it's to do with months and months of issues that are continuously going unanswered/ignored and with the current bollocks of the dd0s nonsese, i refuse and pretty much **fpi refuse to put more money into this game for the time being. So currently our servers are on hold for the time being.

    FPI already has this feature and we've disabled it if player population is low, to my knowledge it's only CT who allows this on low pop servers.
    but with that being said for the time being FPI are not hosting any renx servers at the moment for reasons which are pretty obvious

    AOW back on the Original CNC Renegade was usually set for 30 minutes on majority of servers that weren't custom. 

    If i recall it use to be utter carnage for the last three minutes of the map where everyone would just go all out (no pun intended) 

    Another game-mode popular back in the original renegade was CTF (Capture the Flag) that was pretty fun and gave you a break from Marathon (although in those days maps went on for days lol not even lying) and aow if it got a little tedious.

    Bit of a long shot, but if you know the server (which i am assuming is Official) and the exact time/map you played on, then the demo may still be available for that particular game in which the "deliberate" blocking tanks/pushing you into enemies would be visible. 

    If in doubt there is always a !modrequest feature within server that will alert any mods (granted it may not be instant reply, as we know everyone has different time-zones but i am sure they will respond asap) if it's went un-answered your next best bet is to go into discord (link above) discord is pretty active. You can also take screenshots which would further help.

    But as alternative there is a ignore feature within the game (but you need to do it every map i believe from what i remember) press F5 ignore NAME (i think that's the command) saves a lot of agro

     

    *Sidenote*

    I don't condone any of the above, but it's not my place to say who/what is right/wrong. hopefully this becomes an isolated incident and going forward both can put there differences aside and enjoy the game as many users do. there is always going to be little issues that creep up here and there, but we just have to rise above it, not let it get to us and continue to maul GDI base defences. 

     

    Xmountain confusion

    Last few days we've been luckily enough or not so luckily enough to play on X-Mountain. I have noticed (sure others have seen this, and perhaps it's been reported before?), However when you're on NOD, once you've purchased a tank, upon receiving your tank it kicks up a lot of smoke (giving the illusion that some GDI or even a NOD guy, has just thrown a smoke grenade at the entrance of air-strip) rather confusing especially when server is full and there is all-sorts going on all over the map. 

    Anyway we can do something with the smoke effect to make it less confusing (whilst i guess it's not a huge issue for many) it's still a pain in the butt-hole keeps you paranoid

    Greetings Renegaders! 

    Been a whilst since i made a post on the forum, so bare with me whilst i ramble on. Looking to do a little project just for the sheer banter and amusement during full lockdown but i need your contribution and help to achieve this. What i am looking for is what you think an alphabet made up of stuff relating to RenegadeX would be (this can be from commands, funny clips, quotes, or just the usernames with there logo)

    Example: R is for Renegade X (logo/icon/intro video of renegadex)

    Example: N is for noob (video clip of something newbie within renx like blowing yourself up etc)

    Example: B is for building needs repaired (perhaps a meme/gif of a building being repaired in game)

    Hopefully that explains it a little better. There is no right or wrong answer but a full alphabet would be fun to see what others come up with (if you use videos clips etc, can use provide the links so i can use the parts)

    Start Sunday PUGs earlier?

    Everyone is aware that i have not participated in pug except the recent mods/devs vs players which was a lot of fun. Mainly because 7pm for me is impossible to make. I don't have the luxury of a "most people will be home by then @ 5pm luxury" That as statement is laughable. I work until perhaps 9pm during autumn/winter and 10/1030pm spring/summer time. An on sunday i tend to work as i don't get weekends off 😆 You seem to be missing the point that not all jobs are 8-4/9-5 in the uk, plus rush hour traffic delays any real progress so getting home from work etc and being ready to go at 5pm uk time for pug (and i speak only for myself in this) even that is too much to ask. Unless of course some people have luxury of early finish jobs.

    Just to clarify @Tytonium that is just complete and utter nonsense. I have never once abused any powers in any shape or form. I have only ever issued 1 command within either the server or irc and that's a server-mute for Max. So that's goes to show what an utter load of crap that statement is. 

    The rest of what you said thought i will take onboard. 

    @euan-missile Would be nice to keep Artic and have someone else update it though? 

    I will make a post in the internal discord, if someone can pick it up and update it that would be awesome.

    I ain't taking it personally @euan-missile i am just at a complete lost, as this is the first time i have ever heard of the kicking and threatening, to my knowledge we've never received any alerts for this matter, if these have been missed if anyone has proof of this then feel free to contact me directly and i will deal with it accordingly. 

    I also do not blame people for being  frustrated with crashes, it would crack my tits in as well. but for users to constantly direct all the blame to FPI intentionally doing it is farcical. 

    Update: The map in question was Artic (which i have heard map-maker is unavailable due to other commitments) so for the time being i believe we're currently in process if it's not already done removing it from map rotation/.

    I don't think you fully understand what happens with running servers with renx? We don't just decide to randomly crash a map, MapCrashing is not FPI blame. I have seen other servers crash a few times, but it seems it's always directed down to our fault at fpi? like we're the scapegoat. 

    The map that recently crashed "Artic" has to my knowledge now been removed from maprotation until the fix is made (or is in process of being removed)

    I believe @HIHIHI did a map change vote soon as the server came back online. (Server was supposed to restart on crash with a random map. however it was not implemented. 

     

    I am not sure where you going with this incoming ban malarky?
