Update : tried this after reinstalling; no longer crashes on startup. did lose host connection on startup, and that seems to happen on map changes for some reason. but then my pc isnt the fastest it's about 8 years old

on start up. patched through launcher. will attempt one of the things suggested at some point but just home from work and cba right now, thanks for suggestions though

should I try the method for fixing the bug which occurred in the previous patch for me?

I think all the points regarding myself on EKT have been addressed, but I'll just say one or two things. I'm not a moderator, I'm yet to play my first clanwar. I just play a fair amount at times. Regarding the swapping, sometimes I will actually swap to play GDI on field, which a lot of people wont do. But I'm not always in the mood. If I dont see GDI buying tanks and trying to hold the field I wont bother to swap and help them as I'd be trying to do all the teamwork myself. I cant recall the details of this game so possibly that was the situation there, or maybe I'd been on the losing team a few games in a row and wanted to try be on NOD on field and win for a change. What I probably should have done instead was vote to add a few bots to both teams on level 4 or something, but the bots around lvl 4 on field on GDI generally either stand still or just get in a tank and charge to the obelisk by themselves anyway so may not have been that much help. On previous custom renegade servers there were hierarchies of mods and commands to move players by force. I don't have these powers in renx, even if I was to be a mod, I think? Idk. Thanks anyway

got it working now, thanks. dont know what i did wrong. maybe i needed to update my drivers first before it could work?

Just installed renx today. I altered the graphics settings to low / medium as it was a bit laggy for me. Its entirely possible that my pc can't handle running this game but i'll try find the specs I have if necessary. So the problem was initially i got a "built with UDK" stopped working error. So I altered the graphics settings some more to a lower resolution Now I get the loading menu with audio, and then it black screens and crashes. Log file attached. thanks. edit : I just saw that a box popped up saying not enough video memory so i tried the solution in the common bugs thread but it didnt work for me even though i'm on windows 7. in the command prompt it said : the element data specified is not recognized, or does not apply to the specified entry Launch-backup-2014.05.01-13.55.02.log
