  1. I have an idea for that, Have alternate pathways for some of the maps that are only get unblocked when players reach X amount in a server, these new pathways allow greater attack angles. Have derbies block them until enough players are in the server. This would only be needed on some of the maps that end in stalemates way to offen, such as field. A good example would be a new tunnel on field that goes right behind the two refineries, not protected by base defences at all. they would be blocked off via boards or something artistic, maybe doors that open up? completely until say 30-40 players join at which point players can destroy the debris or the doors stay open? Or a map settings based on players in the current map when it votes. EI, when server is changing servers and there is 30 players, then load the edited version of field that has more attack routes. if its less than 30 then load the default field map. What you should try to do is mange attack routes based on players playing, more players more attack routes. 100 players will not work well on these current maps, they need to be much bigger. 5 players per tunnel, 10-15 per tank battle area.
  2. I think that that idea should be in a thread of its own, thats a game design overhaul not a simple balance issue. It is therefore unrelated to this thread, if you will please make your own thread with it and remove it from this one I would like that, thank you. Back of topic, maps that have base defences should be given better odds at attacking. One of the things I thought of that would be easy is to make it so Spy crates are more common on these maps, aswell as spys themselves are NEVER shot at by base defences. Even if they are detected as enemies by the defending team. Another thing I thought about was making emp nades simple slow down the vehicle by 75% and slow down the turret rotation by 25-50%, reload however should be unaffected.
  3. EMP nades make tank rushes on maps like field, nearly impossible. Field is already a hard map to break a stalemate as is, marathon servers will run field until everyone is sick of it and the server dies. EMPs are a new feature that works great on any map without defences, but if your going to keep it added I strongly recommend giving the attackers something they can use to counter such a great anti-rush defence, or increase the routes to the base defences. Thoughts?
  4. Beacon spam is a valid tactic to hide a real beacon. mutiple beacons is a must for sbh to successfully cooperatively take out multiple buildings or increase odds. Self beacon spam is also a valid tactic so kicking me when i HAVE a valid beacon is wrong, I place one ontop of wf, jump down and kill myself, respawn and place 4 more beacons, everyone assumes its fake because its all the same person... Like you guys said, its the audio that is troubling. So a simple solution is the audio only plays for the earlest beacon of that type (one for nuke one for ion), all the other beacons after it is ignored. To counter the lack of information your bombarded with... Why not have onscreen display counters of each beacon? Top right corner every nuke and ion is listed and the timer of it counts down. you can visually see it. no audio to distract you besides the first audio cue. It would make the beacon spam only a visual show, not an annoying bug buzzing in your ears.
  5. All that is needed is what most major server already do, have SBH not $400 but $550, $800, I've seen one at $1000 once. What the devs should do is simply make it adjustable per map, a map like field, sbh are nearuseless against buildings, but then a map like walls SBH are a major roll player at taking out gdi's base 90% of the time. Simple way to balance the game's SBH: A maps without defences should have SBH cost 100% more - double. (Walls Flying) Additionally, Maps with minor defences (gaurd towers) should have sbh costs 50% more (Lakeside) Or just double the cost. I'd gladly pay $800 for SBH. Just like most would pay $300 for gdi mrfarland
  6. Not always but most times after a game round or if I join on a server that is loading a new round that has not yet started yet. the game crashes to desktop. I've tried the lowest graphic settings with no luck. I've also just tried adjusting the properties to run it as administrator and it still crashes. Any ideas? Attached is the lunch.log which has this near the buttom which was the error that caused the crash i assume: Launch.log
  7. in the old game the pistols range, shotgun range was extremely short. lets just talk about the pistol right now. While playing I've finding that the silenced pistol beats automatic rifle in every case, the pistol has no recoil and does quite a bit of damage, not even including that it is silenced here. I've finding that I'd rather be an assault engineer with a pistol then use a automatic rifle. Is anyone else noticing this imbalance with riflemen? I think the automatic rifle should have zero recoil it should not slowly drift upwards, it should stay exactly where you are pointing it. What are your thoughts?
  8. none of this thread shows ANY sort of design flaw. You can teamtroll on any server on any game, its not something you can just stop, its not that powerful either, placing c4 on people is epic, I remember in the original game placing c4 on a havoc returning to base, he ran into the guard tower where there was about 5-7 hotwires repairing the guard tower as my entire team was besieging it. everyone died inside and it got destroyed moments later, I literally won the game with one lucky ass c4 and random enemy player not knowing it was on his back. Oh the memories I have growing up with the original, please for God's Sake DONT CHANGE ANY DESIGN, INCLUDING ANYTHING TODO WITH C4.
  9. Having an Ad campaign with donations is not financial benefit for them, just going to increase player numbers.
  10. Hi there, just discovered the game, I can't believe my eyes. What a great job the devs are doing! I could not find the donate button? Is there one? If not you guys should put up paypal donations as gifts towards the entire team of developers. I want to support this, renegade was the best game I've every played growing up and your brining it back from the grave! I'm not buying the game but I would defiantly love to help support the development team so they can keep on improving this game and make it better and better with new maps and such. If you do not accept donations for that then maybe a donation to start Ad Campaign to bring more players into the game?
