  1. Well, IMHO if someone manages to land or jump from a heli on top of building, avoid getting hit and plant a nuke on a very difficult to get place, he should be rewarded for it. The real problem here is that you can place beacons in places which are impossible to defuse like inside of other structures. And a good solutions to that have already been mentioned. 1. Make certain areas, like chimneys or edges on the roof of WF slippery so you will fall down when you stand on them. 2. Place beacons exactly where you're standing not in front of players. 3. Fix collision detection of building so you can't get inside the geometry. And that's it. We will still see beacons dropped in places that are difficult to disarm, but will eliminate ones that are impossible to disarm.
  2. In short, can you add a passenger list to your vehicle when you're in? I like to play as a bus driver in all kinds of infantry rushes (be it APC or Chinook) and it always bugs me off when I don't know if I'm already at full capacity or do I need to wait a bit longer before departing. Even a simple counter like CREW: 3/4 would be fine. Cheers.
  3. IMHO rocket soldiers could be free in exchange for grenadier or flame soldier. That way you could still be able to at least do something against vehicles when your barracks/HON is destroyed.
  4. It's all a matter of preferences. Actually all of those reasons above and great C&C mode are the reason this is the only FPS that I find enjoyable these days.
  5. It's really strange to me that ppl have that much problems with SBH. I never played the original Renegade and I'm still learning (although the learning curve in this game is not really that steep) but it's just the matter of defence. I once spend the entire game neither killing anyone or dying, just on repairing building, planting mines and disarming beacons. And I ended with second score on our team. Actually mines are best defence against SBH. Just cover ramps to rooftops and some strategic places on few buildings (like the hangar on vehicle factory) and you'll reduce the amount of SBH greatly. I also found that Orcas are great for defending bases. They are great at destroying APC's have enough firepower to quickly kill the planter and if you hear a warning message you can quickly scan all buildings and get to rooftops faster than anyone (I have also yet to discover if you can kill someone by landing on him). That way you can effectively defend the base with just a few ppl. And it's not true that GDI is more defensive team. Medium and Mammoth tanks are the most deadly ground units that can take down buildings on their own, MRLS have a lot of firepower and are excellent mobile SAM batteries and Orcas are IMHO much better than Apaches. Actually I'd say that GDI dominates on open battlefield and SBH are sometimes the only hope for Nod.
  6. I don't think it's that OP. There was one time when I was playing as GDI and NOD has totally destroyed all but 1 our building and still my entire team stayed outside our base playing armourfest with the enemy. I was the only one on defense and constantly dealing with at least two flamethrower soldiers storming the building. Without this auto-refill I wouldn't be able to defend this building and in fact when I repaird it to 100% and left for ONE MINUTE the building was destroyed. IMHO it adds nice "alamo feel" to the game.
